I don't know if Gus will ever appear on this show. Considering Saul never even knew who Mike was actually working for till Walt and Jesse's involvement, I don't know if they should add him to this series.

It would be interesting to see how Mike eventually started working for Gus, however that is more Mike's story and I don't know if it will be wise to show too much of his background. In saying that though, they did show us a lot about Hank in BB, and Mike seems to be one of the only other regular characters. Therefore they may delve more into his life without Saul being involved.
Agreed. I mean I was just saying it would be a fun cameo for the Breaking Bad fans if he just went in to get lunch or something and Gus took his order and that would be it, or he would walk by him at a table and ask if everything was alright (sort of like when Gus first met Walt), if anything. :lol
Have to disagree. This show is set six years before Breaking Bad and presumably they envision a four or five year run, in which case I can't imagine Mike's relationship with Gus is not going to be pretty good fodder. This is a prequel, so it makes sense we will see how everyone got to their respective places before Walt showed up.

This is the best show on television right now. I can't get over how good this is.
But wait, that last episode focused so much on Mike I wasn't sure who's show it was...

I felt last night's episode was the best one yet. Jimmy does the right thing and by the end of the episode, he's on the verge of tears. His one shot at legitimacy, at happiness, at doing good work for good people...it just goes up in a puff of smoke. Just like that. Poor guy.

When did Gus establish himself at Los Pollos Hermanos? I would think it happened before Walt ever showed up because it takes time to get that factory going and what not. I don't think it's off the table for a brief cameo in one of Saul's future seasons... again, not necessary at all for the show, but just a fun throw-in by Gilligan and company as a nod to Breaking Bad fans.

Gus had been involved with the Cartel for 20 odd years wasn't it?

By the time Walt meets up with him in, I'm guessing 2009, he has had a well established meth business running out of Los Pollos Hermanos.

I do expect to see one of the restaurants show up at some time through BCS.

He did make chicken when Max was murdered, didn't he?

Yes, you're right.

Gus and Max moved to Mexico and opened the restaurants there. I'm not sure what year Max was killed, but Los Pollos Hermanos has been around prior to his death.

Well, we'll see but I'd be willing to bet Gus will be a big part of at least the final season, supposing Espenosa is available. He's way too good a character and too integral in Mike's life by the time Walt hooks up with him for Gus to be a throwaway cameo. I'd actually find that a bit insulting to the character and would rather he not show up than have a stupid "how is your meal" line and then disappear. We'll see in three or four years time, dw! :wink1:

Thus the beginning of a working relationship between Mike and Saul. Mike will become Saul's go to guy as he needs certain "things" done for certain clients.....

That would be cool too. While the main plot of the series will follow Saul, it does seem like Mike will be entering the fray a lot of the time. We had that episode solely about his story and I feel like there will be more where Mike gets to shine in the limelight. Wouldn't mind seeing Gus in more than a cameo role either.

Breaking Bad was Walter White's story, but not every episode focussed on him. It had a wide range of fleshed-out supporting characters, and I hope this show does too.

We're only getting ten episodes, for now. I don't think Mikes story deserves a whole 10%. Just my opinion.
Latest installment blew away last weeks, for me, as it got back to the story I'm watching for.
