In spite of never liking the idea of going back to mine another unnecessary era in order to pick the bones of characters we once loved, I did actually want to like this. I tried to turn off the part of my brain that has critical though and just enjoy it for what it is. Unfortunately the show wasn't about to let that happen. I mean, it's not yet BoBF bad, but it's pretty bad.
I liked Obi-Wan's sad, hopelessness when was alone on Tatooine, I liked Leia's independent, too smart for her own good, attitude, that really did feel like her character (at least up until her chase and kidnapping. It was all downhill from there), and Bail Organa's loving kindness, came off as surprisingly genuine.
Everything else was awful.
I simply cannot understand how so many talented people can work so hard, for so long, with so much money, and continually produce garbage.
