The Inquisitor drama does feel too much, almost a parody of itself. Everyone is so angry and overly aggressive. Add in the dramatic music and it feels a step too far.

The bickering Inquisitors are another level of the bureaucratic in-fighting at the heart of the Empire.

That goes back to the prologue of Alan Dean Foster's 1976 novelization:

Yep, I get it. It's just how it's being executed.

Yes, it's still clumsy in certain areas.

What helped this episode was more emphasis on things that felt classic, though for some the PT is classic too which would explain favourable reactions to the first two parts.

I didn’t quite catch the part - Vader had the skill to extinguish the fire when he instructed the troopers to capture kenobi, did he not?

Then when the fire started again, why couldn’t he just extinguish em again and capture Ben?

Yes it stands to reason Vader could have just put out the fire, or also he and the stormtroopers could have just walked 10 feet around the fire...the next cut is Kenobi, lady spy, and that droid miles away from any trouble and the Inquisitor saying "we lost them". How is this even possible? 🤣🤭

Beyond fricking stupid.

The Inquisitor drama also falls flat because we know the Grand Inquisitor is still alive and we know that the Fifth Brother doesn’t take that position because he gets gutted by Maul in about 5 years from now and Reva isn’t making it one way or another.

As with the laser barrier, some things just can't be walked around. :lol

(The writers will not allow it!)

Nevertheless, I liked this episode a lot more.

Those are just peanuts for him. And i hope the writers dont contradict vader again for this series. Like how he suddenly realized he have a son and a daughter In the next episode and how hes hunting for leia lol

Honestly I feel like this episode is the worst because it's clear Disney has no intention of even trying to play within the boundaries. But then I guess that has been clear for years now.

One is a fanfilm shot by two nerds in their backyard. The other is the product of a billion dollar corporation. Can YOU guess which is which? The answer may surprise you!

Hyperbole and everything, but... Come on. Pay-Off of nearly 2 decades right there!

No wait, I'm sure the next duel will be epic and all that. Yeah, yeah, surely...

Star Wars, from it's inception, was created for children and adults who don't want to grow up.

It's always been an odd blend, with its story compounded by Lucas' lack of certainty that there would even be a second film. And that first film wasn't even consistently one thing, but hit different notes from childish silliness to horror.

It got very odd, for me at least, with the PT, which exaggerated both the childish silliness and the horror.

I think The Mandalorian hit a good and pretty steady tone, but didn't Disney say that Obi-Wan Kenobi was aimed at a younger audience?

Trouble with being given that leeway, is that this is part of the main story leading up to the OT, so the plot holes matter more.

As with anything, my get out clause is that we can take and leave whatever we want, and put it down to the story being mis-told by a narrator who is either going on hearsay, or wilfully making things up. :lol

I have no idea why Artoo (the storyteller) added Jar Jar Binks and Roger Rogers to his narration. I guess he always was a cheeky droid.
