Because no one has ever made a good show or movie with a criminal/villainous lead… Mando hype went to his head.

There was really no valid reason not to go there. I think it was merely the company's lack of will to take Boba Fett there for image purposes.

Obi-Wan Kenobi has been following this softer, generally more 'responsible' route too.

The Mandalorian has been an exception, from it's first episode to the second season's epilogue.

Maybe its because ive been living with 3 lil girls for the past 17 years or so, so my tolerance level might be screwed up by now, is it just me or is anyone else kinda annoyed with how lil leia behave?

I dunno. I think Old Ben’s been kind of an fine fellow this time around. :lol Everybody complained about Luke in the ST, but this ************ let poor Benny Safdie get lynched (he was not having a Good Time), and Vader was straight up offing townsfolk like he was at the 10 year reunion of the Padawan Class of 66. They been going kind of hard in Obi Wan, not gonna lie.:lol

they are following the same formula with old luke - shaken, brittle old jedi who lost their confidence and is spending their day doing boring chores to pass their time. By now they should know that fans are tired looking at this formula.

fans wanna see the eager, confident obi wan that were seen in eps 2 and 3! Picked up where they left off, just use to his jedi power again. Make no sense for him to look all scared when hes faced with a few stormys.

There's violence, but it's generally more of the bloodless, less 'horrific' kind. That's why I was surprised by the trooper bisected by the laser barrier. :lol

Violence in the films and serials of the '30s to '50s that inspired Lucas to create Star Wars often happened off screen. Bullets in westerns would kill people without even making a hole in their shirts.

Yet in 1977 Lucas went gruesome with sights such as the smouldering skeletons of Owen and Beru, or Ponda Bab's severed arm.

Star Wars hovers between the two depictions, as it does between silliness and horror, so we never know what we're going to get from each movie or series.

I was more in shocked when vader snapped the son’s neck off immediately when he tried to interrupt him force choking his dad lol. I thought this was kinda PG13 and was watching it with my youngest

Favreau did in the Gallery episode.

He said they couldn't make a series with a villain as the main character. There had to be some internal conflict to make them and the series interesting.

Would've been better not to have made the series at all. The original intention must've been to carry on the vein of the epilogue though.

Favreau:

"As much fun as it is to think about a character who has questionable morality, blasting his way through the galaxy, that only goes so far. You can't really explore storylines. It sounds good, but when you actually zoom in and explore what's going on with that character, if that character is just a lawless character who is doing really cool action sequences, that's not Star Wars. Star Wars has to be about each character facing certain obstacles, usually emotional ones as well as physical ones. There may be a villain you're facing off, but if there's no internal conflict going on with the character you're losing half of what makes it impactful. And so we found a way hopefully to preserve the edginess of the character...but still show that the character has learned the lesson of time and experience."
:lol They utterly failed at that. He was moral and good from the beginning of the show to the end. I can't remember one ''edgy'' thing he did such that when Cad Bane came in and addressed him as a cold blooded killer I choked on my drink :lol I didn't really but it was just so laughable the idea that this show's characterization of Boba Fett could have ever qualified for that description.

Whatsmore, Mando does edgy things all the time and that's the show with goo-goo-ga-ga Grogu.

I missed that on the first watch as I was typing, but that little scene was very 1977!

Never said or called anyone a hater whatsoever but whatever

I don’t get the hate for reva.

Really don’t get the hatred on this one.

Did I say you weren’t entitled to your opinion at all? No. I said I just I don’t get the hate. If you don’t like her for whatever reason then fine. I agree she’s a stereotype but don’t get the hate still

Here you are using those terms several times.
I was simply pointing out there's a difference between hate and criticism and I didn't get why young people call everything hate when it's criticism.
Point out the poor writing or acting and someone calls it "hate"
Did you literally mean people hate Reva (not talking about those internet trolls that were sending her horrible messages, I'm referring to normal fans discussing the character) or do you mean people are criticising her character and the writing etc.
You said you "don't get the hate" when there are pages of people explaining their issues with the character in perfectly reasonable terms, no hatred included.
So do you literally think people hate or is it valid criticism?
If you still don't understand why people don't like her, even after it's explained in multiple posts by multiple people then I don't think I can help you understand.
Or do you mean you understand their argument and just disagree with their opinion.
In which case you do "get the hate" you just disagree with it.
Sorry but I'm genuinely not sure what you're trying to say in your posts.

The explanation didn't make any sense. He came out of the Sarlaac and went on the rampage in The Mandalorian, then killed his way to Bib's throne.

Then they retcon that and say that his Sarlaac experience made him rethink his life. :huh

yeah. Did they bring ol james earl back to voice vader again? I hope we still get a few more years of that magnificent voice! It did kinda bring me back to the early 90s when i heard vader speak again :rock

I was so on the edge of my seat that Ben would die in that mining area duel with Vader. Or at least would lose a limb or something. Or that the fire Vader made would burn all of Ben's face and hands badly, scarring him for life.:horror

But then I thought that lady helping Ben might shoot Vader and maybe even kill him!

I'm also super worried that Sista will kill Leia as soon as she catches her. 😬

but weve seen eps 4 where hes got perfect wrinkled skin and all limbs attached. So we all know that thats not gonna happen.

mid bbqing scene, my minds like thinking hows ol ben gonna get out of this this time around lol

They should have made it so that he TRIED to turn his life around but just couldn't then accepting that he is meant to be a cold blooded killer.

Yeah it was him and it seems like some voice deepfaking like they have done with Luke in Mando/BOBF, cause he doesn't sound like that in Rebels and TROS.

As long as JEJ is alive he should voice Vader.

Worst part was how they kept catfishing us and rubbing it in. The blurry Mandalorian walking into the meatpacking plant where ****’s clearly bout to go down, I’m like “Boba? Is that you?” Nope. It’s Mando. The Mayor and his goons get butchered in the finale; “Boba?” Nah. It’s Fennec. Honestly? It almost makes me feel like they’re trying to preserve the purity of their own character by not putting him in competition with the OG. So, Mando gets to be the armored badass we always thought Boba was and Boba gets to be…this ****:

The reason why mando work is because hes a new character where no fan is expecting anything. boba and obi will always be divided because they have to appeal to the old fans while try to bring in new fans at the same time too.

Yes it stands to reason Vader could have just put out the fire, or also he and the stormtroopers could have just walked 10 feet around the fire...the next cut is Kenobi, lady spy, and that droid miles away from any trouble and the Inquisitor saying "we lost them". How is this even possible? 🤣🤭

Beyond fricking stupid.

As with the laser barrier, some things just can't be walked around. :lol

(The writers will not allow it!)

Nevertheless, I liked this episode a lot more.

Yeah, but that's the issue, they already proved with the Sequel Trilogy that they have no respect for the legacy characters.

Boba should have remained a badass background character, like in Mando S2, that shows up every once in a while to kick some ass.
