Something Dave Filoni said in the Mando Season 2 art book really made me raise an eyebrow:
"There were a lot of debates about Ahsoka Tano pointing the way to Luke Skywalker. And Jon and I went back and forth, because if Ahsoka can't take care of Grogu, then who will? Taking care of the Child is not her destiny. That's not what I've been planning for her to do [laughs], so I can't change it up. But it is interesting if Ahsoka is there along the way..."
I just found it interesting that it kind of reads like Luke was brought in not because it would make the most sense for him as the only remaining Jedi to be Grogu's teacher but instead was brought in so that Grogu could be dumped on him in order to preserve the all-important path that Filoni wants Ahsoka on. As if the "destiny" of his precious creation takes precedent over even the likes of Luke freaking Skywalker. Like I said it makes perfect sense within the context of the established story why Grogu should go to Luke but there's just something about Filoni's wording above that kind of rubs me the wrong way. *shrugs* Maybe I'm reading too much into it.
What's even more strange is that if Ahsoka couldn't possibly train Grogu due to her "destiny" then BOBF had a funny way of showing it, considering Grogu was with Luke for what a few weeks at most? With Ahsoka herself making an appearance during his training? Even with Filoni's rationale above I'm not sure I see why she couldn't have just been the one to unlock some of Grogu's memories if he was just going to be sent right back to Mando either way.
Phhhhht I've never seen Ahsoka as all that, so for me Filoni's obsession with her is pretty cringe anyway. Nothing against Dawson either but for me she just doesn't have the presence to make her interesting when she's not fighting.
Then there was the awkward weak covering of Ahsoka "well, I couldn't train Grogu, but Luke can 'coz it's his choice."

E.g. having Ahsoka show up in Mando/TBOBF is just advertising to get the general audience used to her, not because she's doing anything useful.
That way for her show they don't have to backtrack and explain everything to anyone who didn't watch CW. Plus they get her to name drop Thrawn.
I can't wait for her own show, so she quits taking up time on other series. As for who could train Grogu - I've been shouted down before, but still think they should've brought another surviving Jedi on board, since *realistically* I doubt ALL Jedi would have been wiped out, and it would have been a chance for a new character instead of all the rehash. Filoni had already opened the door for that kind of thing anyway.
You know, three months ago I never thought I'd ever see this much detail of TMs bod... I think this might be worse than the bacta wrestling match with Black Kristin wearing only Jockeys... ps. I'm not knocking his physical shape for a 60 year old. If he's playing Rex here, it actually fits. If he's playing 40 year old Boba, it would've been best to expose less...of both his bod and his face. #helmeton
This just struck me as hilarious

, but yeah, I get it. It's not like TM is all sagging but geez the Penguin look sprawled on the sands of Tatooine didn't do the character any favors. Then he rolls over and it's kinda, well, as being a prisoner goes, looks like there's plenty there to live off of whether the Tuskens feed him or not. At least for a while.
