Because of one throwaway line? Nope.
The Eleventh Doctor recalls the Corsair being both male and female. The 2012 novelisation of Shada also features the Fourth Doctor mentioning the Corsair as both sexes. It's been established. You can ignore it all you like, for whatever reason.

Every Nu-Doc failed to win me over until after seeing their first 2 or 3 stories. I have no reason to believe PC will prove different...

:exactly::goodpost:

.. oh, wait.. there was one exception.. Tennant.. hadn't seen Doctor Who in a very, very long time (Troughton was my first Doctor, then Pertwee and finally Baker).. but I happened to switch on the TV just as Doctor Who started.. and it was the 'Blink' episode.. Awesome! :)

I find it amusing that people get so defensive about the posability of him coming back as a her.

I find it amusing when people feel smugly superior from being amused by the supposed sexuality of an imaginary TV character.

In Doctor Who there is no canon. I can choose to believe that the Corsair chose to mutilate himself after a bad regeneration. :wave

No smugness, I simply find the resitance to be amusing. it's a fictional story which in the grand scheme of things has no real importantance or signifigance. Other than just being fun stories. Further, having no canon, means anything is possible.

Why rule out any stories before you hear them, you might miss out on something great.

You mean...other than the sheer pointlessness of the idea? What would be the point anyway...to introduce change merely for the sake of change, rather than any actual artistic creativity? Are all of Who's script writers so mentally feeble and creatively redundant that they'd need to tread that tired old piece of silly misdirection?

If that's the case, they seriously need a new set of writers. And I have been saying that for a while now.

Dude. It's Doctor who. it's filled to the brim with Pointless ideas that "introduce change for the sake of change". It's all about Insane sci-fi stories that are mostly spectacle.

or if you prefer, here is a musical summary of every modern sci-fi show ever.

Dude. :goodpost::exactly::lecture

@Lerath Is your point that it's ok for Doctor Who to introduce a pointless idea just because in your opinion Scifi is full of pointless ideas and DocWho should be no different?

Oh yes, and hopefully some new plots. If I see the universe being saved by the power of love one more time I will shoot the nearest bunny.

Oh no, we can't do that. that would be inviting change for the sake of change :peace

Teasing aside, people want something fresh. SO My point still stands. why resist ANY ideas that might breathe new life into the series? Had we never had change from what was in the past, the doctor would likely have allways been an old man, and we would never have gotten Tom Baker, OR David Tennant.

so again, why count out any ideas completely?

The Doctor regenerative sex-change would be typical of something from the Rick Berman produced Brannon Braga scripted era of TNG and Deep Sleep Nine. Maybe they could get Kate Mulgrew. :monkey1

So how about that 10 figure, eh? Anyone see Broadchurch? Maybe they should do a scruffy Tennant?

Does anyone else have any problems with Big Chief's customer service? I've been sending them emails asking for help for a while but never have I gotten a reply.
Or if anyone here could help me, that would be great.

Because this idea is ridiculous and for spectacle alone.

As for the 'throwing anything in that changes things up' idea, because it doesn't matter...it's only science fiction so it does not matter if it's silly, nonsensical or lacking in any creative merit at all!

That kind of backwards, 50's, American, formulaic-TV thinking, say one thing one week but go against it the next, reset button, doesn't need to make sense mentality is what has kept decent science fiction from coming to the fore for decades! This decrepit and destructive idea is what has made, and whatsmore, kept science fiction as the retarded bastard cousin of so called 'legitimate' entertainment.
