For the sake of the Brits I thank God this operation wasn't performed last week. I imagine the Royal Wedding would have been a very tempting target of retaliation.

I'm sure the republicians ate plotting a way to try and flip this ti make themselvrs seem like they did this.

Is the above an example of the partisanship some of you were complaining about?
(Fyi, spellcheck is your friend. It can't make you sound any smarter but it helps the presentation)

Wouldn't his family have wanted it? Isn't his mother still alive? Doesn't he have a ton of brothers and sisters?

From what I have heard most of his family disowned him a long time ago so I can see them not wanting the body.

Yeah that was a worry, after all the London bombings were a day after we got the Olympics. However I think anybody trying anything on the day of the wedding in London, would have been taken out pretty quickly.

It's coming out now that the US recovered "quite a bit of material" from Bin Laden's compound. Depending on what that material is, this could be a pretty big deal.

It was mentioned earlier too that his son and his wife (one of them at least) were killed in the raid also.
Apparently it was him + 3 men and 1 woman.

As for the Wedding to be completely honest I was really suprised nothing happened anyway, part of me kind of expected some attempt be made (by any terrorist group) so I was kinda pleased when it didn't cos even though I have no time for royalty I wouldn't wish anything like that on anyone.

Wowzers. They had Fred Burton on CNBC. For those of you who don't know is one of the leading experts in counterterrorism. He stated that the US had $20 million set aside to help pay off intel for OBL's capture.

He also said the informant in this case (along with his/her family) is probably now hidden in the US somewhere.

Crazy how this stuff really works.

Remix of Walker TX Ranger theme.......

How's this for perspective:

All orchestrated by 1 man. That man is now dead. It's a good thing. Maybe even a victory depending on how loose you play with your definitions.

Nobody is discounting those lives lost. It's a tragedy and continues to be a tragedy as we continue to fight this war. But OBL is dead and that's a good thing.

Your fetish on stirring up ____ and saying incredibly dumb, irrelevant things are clouding your mind... sorry... :dunno

:goodpost::exactly::goodpost:

Yes, this was all orchestrated by 1 man (maybe not everything, and not necessarily alone, but he orchestrated alot)... He wasn't the one who physically flew the planes that crashed into the world trade center, pentagon, or other locations... but he told people to do it. So the fact that this person is no longer living, is a good thing that should be, i don't necessarily want to use the word celebrated, but yes, it should be.

Now unfortunately, this is not the end of the war, this is not the end of anything. People who supported you-know-who are probably going to retaliate at some point for all of this, the killing of their leader, and the celebration our nation, and many others are now doing. Additionally... do not think that a new leader won't rise. Someone will fill OBL's shoes. Now we just have a new terrorist leader threat in our world. It never ends. There's always someone else who wants to rule and will command by any means necessary.

Yeah, "idiotic rants", what would you call it?

My point is that nobody was calling this a victory until you came in to stir up your usual brand of stupid ____.

Oh, I'm not saying he didn't have it coming for him... in no way I sympathize with him,
but it's weird how people believe somehow this is a "victory" is what baffles me... just sayin' :peace

Killing the POS is a symbol just like bringing the Twin Towers down was.

He ain't getting no virgins, he isn't going to hell. I hope he gets what the Mormons believe and solitare existance in nothing forever.
