For software, you've never owned it. Physical disc or not, you still have to activate software now-a-days...and they can pull your license any time.

This is true, but it's only for software. I'm not saying I own the rights to the game, but if I purchased the console version of this game I own that particular disc. I can either keep it, lend it to a friend or sell it.

I don't have any of those options if I download it.

I'm with you. I got Tomb Raider and Gears. I won't be finished with them by the time I get this and I don't care.

Well the Gears campaign is fairly short. I finished Judgement and Aftermath in probably 10 hours or so.

Tomb Raider is a different story though...that game is so much fun you want to find everything and do every optional challenge.

You wouldn't be able to do that with most PC games anyways these days even if you bought the disc, since they have activation. Which even means that eventually in the future it might not work due to there not being server support for activation.


I'm actually OK with the Steam stuff, but I really don't think a steam purchase should cost the same as a boxed version, since they make far more money off the digital copies than the boxed copies (less cost of packaging, and they lose less money to Steam than they would to say Gamestop). I think if they want people to get into the digital copies they should lower the price.

But I am actually glad this game runs off Steam, I'd like to keep things in the Steam library but it's something I really like so I want the physical copy.

So. IGN Has an exclusive review of this game up tonight. Thats 4 days before anyone else. If this gets less than a 9.5 I'll be surprised. For this very reason only.

10 hours right now will take me about 2 to 3 weeks to go through.

My NECA hook up told me they're re-releasing the plush daddies! This is great news for me since those are the only NECA bioshock items I missed.

She didnt have any dates or anything though.

umm have you played System Shock 2? Honestly that is the only game I can think of that is similiar. Bioshock is a fps with rpg elements. Just watch some youtube gameplay if your curious about it. Hell you can probably find the first two bioshock games for really cheap.

PC version for the win?

Yep. 9.5 on PC. Compared to 9.4 on consoles. Controls and graphics obviously.
The aging consoles can't handle the visuals of the game. More muddy and reduced textures.
