I'm not sure you can buy anything to get that achievements (from the dollar bill machines). You may have to go back to a previous chapter and start from there to get it.

I was fine up until that damn bar! :gah: I've only bought the upgrade for Possession and Devils whatsit so far. Trying to save money for upgrading Undertow etc, have a feeling I'm going to need around $20k for the last mission :lol

I've done two vigor upgrades...posession (where human will suicide) and greater damage with the fire one. I'll most likely be upgrading weapons... RPG, sniper and conbine. I use those the most. Maybe shotgun....

I'm still nervous to spend $$. :lol

Nope...and I'm not going to. In my three play thrus I've only used it once and that was to buy lock picks.

I'm getting ready to leave Shantytown and confront Daisy.

Made it through the Good Luck Club without dying...but then a damn Patriot got me in the impound area in Shantytown.

Well done :hi5: The Patriot in that club kicked my arse, was tempted to just restart from checkpoint instead of using cash but couldn't face doing the two initial waves of enemies again :lol

The Patriot outside I was ok with as I just headed for high cover and called in whatever tear support I could.

Clothing plays a bigger part on a 1999 playthrough, I'm swapping and changing bits and pieces more to suit the enemies.

I haven't used the Dollar Bill machine in 1999. I used it one time only and that was my first play thru. Really no need...I find everything I need or get it from Elizabeth.

Got ya. I was like NOOOOOOO :lol

Those Patriots can run flippin' fast I've noticed this time. :lol I ran upstairs and was met by several police I hadn't killed yet...then the Patriot was on me and it was over.

Been wearing a lot of melee gear...but I need to switch it up soon
Enemies are getting too strong now for that.

Stupid Siren got me once at the cemetery and twice at the vault. One more battle to go. :panic:

It's funny, during the first play through I used the Dollar Bill machines mostly for lock picks as well but playing in 1999 mode I have tons of lock picks. I guess I must have just missed them the first play through.

The "need to hold money" mentality of 1999 was overrated. It helps to have a few revives, if you're just about to kill a handyman or finish a huge battle. But if you have no money, it's not like the game ends, a la Dead Space hardcore. You just revert to a checkpoint that was like, five-ten minutes prior.

There were a few times I actually paused and restarted at checkpoint, because with how little progress I'd made in a battle, I'd rather retry than waste money being revived.

:lol

I dreamed about the ending of this game last night. Surprisingly.. it wasn't too difficult. :lol

Its really not if you just cover that thing with return to sender bulbs and can stay hidden.

She was a pain to me really only with the second battle at the bank. The last one I tried a few times one way and it didn't work for me but once I just stayed back with my upgraded snipe I was able to take her out. I just had to be really patient.

Also, Posession with the two upgrades is beastly. I think it was here that someone said they didn't like letting other people do the work for them, but I love it.

Pop out of cover, possess someone, they shoot up a Patriot, then themselves. Repeat.

It's a godsend for the rocket guys, since they are the most powerful enemy this will work on until they kill themselves.

What pisses me off the most in 1999 mode is the freaking snipers. Two quick shots and your dead. WTF?!. You pop out from around a corner and bang bang. :horror

They nailed me from up high the first time. I did not expcet that to be honest.

Yeah, that one part by Emporia Towers was rough. You round the corner and the sniper pops you.

I usually just let an RPG take care of it, just put in the vague vicinity and a few of them would kill them with splash damage alone. But on 1999, I only had my sniper and hand cannon, so I had to take them out with the sniper. It was lots of "quick shot, run back to recharge shield, quick shot, dammit Elizabeth give me health, quick shot..."

That is true... but I rarely play games on hard because I suck. :lol. So I like to have my bases covered.

That sounds familiar. :lol

Nothing more frustrating than being almost out of salts or health and hearing "I'm still looking."

I knew that ment I was doomed once or twice.

I am not looking forward to the siren battles.

Charge and the machine gun is your friend. I was able to kill her each time in under 20 seconds. Easy. The final battle is the tough part. Maxing out your shields and salts makes that fight easier.
