Even when I was on my second playthrough, I forgot about him and he scared me to death. I was like WTF?!?!

There are a few moments in Bioshock where, despite playing it countless times, and knowing these things will happen, they still freak me out.

Like the dentist, when the room steams up and he's there when you turn around. Or when you use the Power to the People machine in Fort Frolic, and when you turn around the frozen person is standing behind you.

Only on normal, but having real problems with the end battle (very bad eyesight... :)). Any tips? Cheats? HEEELLLPPPP!!!! (Playing PS3 version, in case that matters)

Thanks! I just made it to Monument Island. I died once already. So annoying. Backed myself up into a corner and a fireman charged me and exploded. I'm already dreading my first encounter with the Patriots....and the ghost...and the Handyman.....and the ghost.....and the end. :lol

I don't know if I will get all the achievements....I need a few that you get on the skyline - like the head shot one..and there's one other. After I finish 1999 I may try for the couple I will still need on easy and just try to get them all.

No problem. :duff Just keep saving that money and you'll be ok. I think actually if you use the gear that allows for ammo drops and avoid using the dollar bill machines you'll be just fine. This didn't turn out to be as hard as I expected. It was a challenge but not the hair pulling adventure I expected.

That's what I did. I finished it on easy last night getting all 4 I hadn't gotten after finishing 1999 mode. I needed the drunk achievement, find all the voxophones, sight seeing, and 30 kills while riding a skyline. If you're only a few away might as well get it done.

I can't stand that guy. Half the time he's totall clueless and just seeing him pop up annoys me.

Completed this game yesterday, wow what a game! Absolutely loved it and I've already started on my 1999 play through, so far so good.

Most of the patriots I've faced I've been able to unload shock jockey, hammer that shotgun into them, then just rinse and repeat.

The Boys of Silence are gits, I jumped about 6ft in the air when I turned around! Well played 2k, well played :lol

Had a glitch with the Raising the Bar achievement, fully maxed out shield and still didn't pop so hoping it does this time :(

I know it's too early to call but I seriously think this will be game of the year, the story alone far surpasses anything I've played so far. Can't see anything beating it at the moment.

My first play through, I also didn't get Raising the Bar. I realized that there was still one upgrade I could do. I thought I was at 10... but when you max it out you see a star on the bottle not a number.

Finally got that achievement today, definitely filled that bar up this time! :yess:

I didn't look at any achievements on my first playthrough, though I should have assumed this would be one. But I didn't max out anything until my second playthrough, because I figured "10" was full. :slap

Wow just got my arse handed to me by the Good Time Club, turns out not so much of a good time on 1999! That's $300 down the drain.

I just got to Fink's. Only died twice so far....got $2400 and I'm nervous to spend it. :lol

There was a couple times I was close to death...you could see no red on my health bar...thankfully my shield saved me. Damn Patriots!

Ok why is 1999 mode referred to as such? Games in '99 harder than today? Totally don't get it

"The 1999 mode — I want to be clear — it’s not like an entirely new game where you buy the game and get two games in one. It is a version of the game. Think about when you play Monopoly with different house rules. It’s sort of like that. You can set a bunch of different rules and the rules make it much more difficult and a much more unforgiving game. We call it the 1999 mode because our first game came out in 1999, System Shock, and it was a tough, tough game. We wanted old school fans to have a sense of the game that was pretty unforgiving, as BioShock 1 was not particularly unforgiving. I designed it to get through it. We really wanted to give gamers that kind of challenge who wanted it, but it’s tough stuff. It’s like the hot sauce on the table, use it with care."

I was fine up until that damn bar! :gah: I've only bought the upgrade for Possession and Devils whatsit so far. Trying to save money for upgrading Undertow etc, have a feeling I'm going to need around $20k for the last mission :lol

Nope...and I'm not going to. In my three play thrus I've only used it once and that was to buy lock picks.

I'm getting ready to leave Shantytown and confront Daisy.

Made it through the Good Luck Club without dying...but then a damn Patriot got me in the impound area in Shantytown.
