My little tribute art for the movie :)

great great talent...........................

So what’s the consensus on the BluRay retailer exclusives? All I see are steel book and stupid metal spinner model. Target has nothing? Wtf

The 4K steelbook looks pretty nice, but Germany got the best exclusive by far with the Deckard blaster replica.

I'm obsessed with this movie, Call me crazy but my favorite part is the amazingly visuals in the casino digital recreation theater, man seeing elvis, liberace, everything done there superbly done, the soundtrack to this film is beyond amazing. My only complaint is the digital HD audio is WAY TO LOW. I freaking love this movie.

The blu-ray/4K has been confirmed as having the 2.40:1 aspect ratio only, no 1.90:1 IMAX option.

I'm not surprised as that is the ratio intended by both Villeneuve and Roger Deakins.

Only six more days! :yess:

Literally cannot wait to watch this again! Best film of 2017 for me and probably the best newly released film I have seen years (though Rogue One is very fun to re-watch).

I hear you! :duff

I feel like it will be hard not to just watch it on a perpetual loop. It's just one of those movies where I want to be constantly in that "world," regardless of the scene. That's one reason the long run time works because so much of the experience is about inhabiting the setting. If all I cared about was waiting until Deckard or the giant Joi hologram showed up then yeah, it'd feel overly long and drawn out. But this movie grabs you in the first scene and doesn't let go.

While I am sadened by the fact that this great sequel to one of the best sci-fi films is a failure while crappy mess that has SW logo on it is makin' tons of cash despite lots of critique... It's a good thing that there won't be any more sequels for at least two decades. Maybe by then we'd finally get WWIII.

You answered your own question. If BR 2049 made a billiion we'd have another one already greenlit and the legacy would eventually be tarnished. You either die a hero or make enough money to get a crappy sequel. I'm glad it was the former.

It's rare that something really, really good is going to connect with a large audience. That goes for anything. You appeal to the masses by dumbing things down, dulling the edge, letting the producers and sponsors and foreign markets have more input, essentially letting money be the driving force more than the art.

I'm pretty shocked this got greenlit to begin with. Same for Fury Road. The latter could have easily been turned into a futuristic Fast and the Furious for a fraction of the cost and made several times the profit.

Don't forget - that third film would be the first of a new candle-passing trilogy!

Funnily enough I was watching Ridley Scott interviews on youtube last night. Not all his films are home runs but he's a very interesting chap to listen to. He's also got one of those voices, maybe this is just me, that has a kind of ASMR effect. Google that if you don't know what it is. You'll recognise the description though because I think we all get it, we just don't all have the same triggers.

Yep, Fury Road, BR 2049, and Rogue One will forever be rare artistic jewels that were given surprisingly huge budgets for their directors to play with.

Can I add Dredd to this list?

If we're going there, let's not forget peer films such as Suicide Squad, Wolverine: Origins, and Fant4Stic.

You did not just put suicide squad in the same sentence as those other two films lol
