Watching this film again at home (third time overall) there isn't much to say that hasn't already been said. I did notice that literally every single second that Joi was on screen she always appeared like solid flesh unless there was a light source (of any kind) behind her and any time that that was the case you could see the light (whether it be a large spotlight or dim wall/night light) shining through her, many times almost imperceptibly. I can't imagine the man hours required to do that by hand in each and every shot from every single angle. Even when Ana and Ryan were both clearly on set they really did an awesome job of selling the illusion that they weren't ever actually touching.
This film really is a new "FOTR." I think it took me three viewings of that one too to realize "wow, I'm actually seeing a brand new film that is instantly one of the greatest of all time.'" Moments like that don't come around very often. It almost feels like it's a classic film from the 70's or 80's that has been untouchable for decades and is finally getting a fully restored home release so that we can all "see it again for the first time" (if that makes any sense.)
