It was an average thriller that could have basically been pg13. It had a decent spin but come on what a waste of a genius concept. Really could have been something special , we could have had some amazing horror villains and a horror hero. But it was all toned down to its basic parts.

Luv is such chilling and terrifying villain. Absolute cold blooded and heartless, almost like a female T-1000.

And then to see Luv crush Joi in front of K, even with Joi being just an A.I, was hard to watch solidifies her coldness. It makes the intense finale in the rain as K strangles the life out of her oh so satisfying.

Awesome!
Saw this last night and enjoyed it from beginning to end.
From the cinematography to the score. From the script to the acting. This movie delivered!

Just saw it last night on Blu. I thought the film was fantastic, and very much on par with the original in terms of intrigue, with the moral/ethical questions that are explored. I believe the only thing that it really lacked was an ending dialogue to bring everything into full circle (in a sense). But, Ryan Gosling's dying silence while, "Tears in the Rain" played in the background was a powerful scene, nonetheless. I can also appreciate that this film was more about exploring the individual characters and their place in the world (or rather, "destiny"), instead of focusing on the broader aspects of an upcoming Replicant war, or the need to bring down Wallace.

I agree with all of your thoughts. I also hope we get a Replicant War sequel sometime in the near future. I'd definitely like to see what's in store for Wallace's character.

Completely agreed on that. Perhaps even the best I've seen in several years. It's just that good.

I honestly can’t think of anything that’s come out within the last decade that tops it for me.

It's certainly the best sequel ever made.
But i reckon the atmosphere elevates it even higher. So many things add together and i reckon an argument could be made for one of the greatest movies ever made.
As a piece of art, it has few equals.
It's a shame it didn't make a little bit more at the box office.
But i feel content that i liked it, and so many people whose' opinion i respect "got it" too.
I ignore any of the naysayers. They just didn't get it, and that's fine enough. We all have different tastes.
But i got it.
And it sends chills down my spine every time i watch it.

My guess is that, just like BR, BR 2049 will be more appreciated in years to come, and quietly emerge as a classic.

It's just unfortunate it sunk the production company that took gamble on it. As I've said before they should never have tried to position this as a big budget, four quadrant tentpole crowd pleaser. It was always going to financially fail on those terms.

Definitely the best sci-fi film since the 80's. Crazy that Avatar, District 9, and Fury Road got Best Picture noms and not this.

I was very pleasantly surprised by District 9. It was my favorite movie for that year it was released.
Pretty much got the same feeling when a watched BR 2049. Great movie and I'm going to be watching it again soon.
