Five Oscar nominations all in technical categories. No love for score, either.

Best outcome (besides a full sweep of the categories in which it's nominated) is Deakins getting that Best Cinematography love for once.

War of the Planet of the Apes is also in there for the effects category so I'm torn on that one. Those apes have always amazed me.

I Was really turned off by the complaints of long boring runtime. 3 hours is just too long. And the clear divide between "it's a masterpiece " and my dad saying it's the worst movie he's ever seen. I was very skeptical and didn't even want to make time to watch it. I randomly bought it on blu ray 3d this weekend. Watched it on my projector with some friends (who were in the same boat as me) and we were all blown away. Very well done subtle story. I didn't miss a single beat , even without having seen the original in years. It was all very emotional. The simpleness leads to some very open ended things that very interesting to think about

I was blow away how beautiful it was on my first viewing (IMAX) it's just an absolute eye'gasm!

Second and 3rd play through is where it cements itself (for me) as a GEM.

As say the subtle story deserves great credit and for this movie (if the above is true) not to be
mentioned in an Oscar nomination in various categories shows how stupidly broken and farcical the Academy awards are.

it’s Japan’s no where is carrying it that ships overseas. been sold out since mid-december. goes for like 350 USD.

it’s beautiful though. :lol

Shame, but yeah beautiful edition and price-wise, totally worth that! :lol

God knows how the terribly average Get Out got nominated over this.

Finally got a chance to see this today. What an incredible movie. Well done across the board. It's a feast for the mind and eyes.

Get out was terribly average. It's a straight rip off of skeleton key anyway.
