Get some good lighting on this statue , on any statue and is a win win.
It's ok Eplosive your pics showed us how good this can look. Which is only fair.
We were looking at badly distorted and badly represented pics. No fault on the pics takers . We just use what we have in hand to take quick pics.
Statues and figure being their scale is hard to take decent none distorted pics.

Hope you display cases light up Chris . Am wanting to see it lite up buddy :lol what 3 more hours or so will be dark I reckon :lol

Knowing there's a hidden scar behind the sash would annoy me though.:lol
Strange I know but if I didn,t know I,d be ok with it . :lol
So saying that I think it works. getting better lighter colour red painted thicker with blood dripping would be cool.
Just the burgundy thin red lines looks so cheap. Anything will be better than what they gave the statue. :slap

I have all day tomorrow by myself,i'm going to try a few things, the cuts being one.brighter red, maybe thicker(or see if I can disguise the bottom one.)
tried the han blades on them the 1st and 3rd just fit the gap between the cuts.the middle cut even has a downward curve on it:slap

I played with the idea of drawing some scars on top with wash off paint. Or wipe off Just to see the effects. But thought nah! Better leave as .
The chest scar would be better if not so neat too.

I have some water colour pencils and paint as well as acrylics.the chest scars should be pretty easy to recolour and maybe add a little dripping.the abs i'll need to figure out.
I'm going to start with the shoulder cuts and try to remove the paint and see how the scars look minus blood,i'll then take it from there.

added some subtle red/brown highlights to the hair, and just a few dabs of clear varnish at the ends of some of the hair to give it a wet look.

the 2nd pic should be the 1st:slap:lol

no worries mate.i may have to give this to my sis in law if I want the cuts redoing, the ole hands arn't as steady or grippy as they used to be
toned some of the sweat down, and added some pink/red hues around the cuts/chest/ab area...oh and slightly enlarged the nipples..still WIP.coffee time.

Wow you done some work to this already . Nice before and after pics. Argh stop tempting me to paint scars . :lol
I one time stuck some tape together just to kit bash a fig . To keep head gear on the head in place ,When I remove tape paint came off too.
The bald patch was not a good look. Put me off going near head sculpt.:fart. :lol

oh dear,if its any consulation to you I looked at removing the back cuts, gently ran over with a cotton bud and some remover.red paint came off so put said bud down to see how raised the scars were(there are actually sculpted into the torso and noticeable)so went to just lightly dry where I'd done..........and yup used the same bloody bud:slap as before so I now have about an inch or so paintless/red/pink patch where the cuts originally were.what a muppet:horror. I've done what I can today.hair body.sweat.finished off with slightly bigger nipples, darker eyebrows and very stubtle shading around the eyes......

need a break:lol

Guess your now committed to paint the scars .Yer just take your time buddy . But If you are going to paint the scars it's ok no harm done.
Wait for the professional to tackle it . Matching my head sculpt skin tone with limited colour palette is nightmare . :lol never looked right again :lol
