Beat the game this weekend with about 34 hours on my first playthrough. Amazing game, probably the best overall game Miyazaki has produced. It was very streamlined with little to no filler, which was quite welcome. Loved how the world was interconnected, and more than once I found a shortcut to a previous area that blew my mind. The bosses overall were great, if a little easy at times. There were only two or three that gave me a hard time. Haven't really touched the chalice dungeons yet except for going in for specific weapons and armor. They remind me a lot of Dragon's Dogma. Overall I'd say I definitely found it easier than anything in the Souls series, though there were some difficulty spikes here and there. It really helps to be familiar with Souls combat and controls, because your learning curve isn't nearly as steep.

I'm about 4 hours in to NG+ right now, and it's a LOT tougher. I'm level 160 and spent some time yesterday getting my ass utterly handed to me by Father Gascoigne and the Blood-Starved Beast. Going to be spending more time trudging through that and trying some of the tougher dungeons, as a lvl 4 chalice dungeon soundly whipped my ass on the way to getting the Beast Claw.

I'd say this has made it into my top ten of all time, maybe even top five. Time will tell.

Good job, I'm getting there . Great game but dark souls is my jam . It's a great game though

How did you level up so fast?

Update: nevermind; seems some serious farming can be done in certain chalice areas....

Once I hit NG+, I used the item dupe glitch to get a lot of souls to level up a bit. I think I finished the first playthrough at around level 89 or so? I wanted more VIT and END as well as upgrade materials so I could get all the weapons to +10 and fiddle with them for variety's sake.

I'm getting DS2 today. Played the crap out of the original release, but I'm hearing good feedback on the remaster. The enemy placements and such have apparently benefited the game greatly.

Ok awesome. I am at the part in the Nightmare with he dude wearing the cage mask. i gotta be close to the ending of the inital playthrough.......?!?!?

And definitely getting DS2. played a lot of 1, but its been a couple years. Hope the treasure chest monster is back - always loved that one a lot

Oh, there are definitely chest Mimics in there. :)

You're about...uhh, 2-3 bosses away from the end, depending on whether you found certain items that will allow you to face the "true" final boss. They're all one after the other, though, so you're not far at all. There are some other optional bosses I'm not sure if you fought or not, in the Upper Cathedral. Celestial Emissary and Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos. Did you fight them?

I'm about half way on bloodborne I'm level 60 already and now just getting all the armors I can before I go any further. Doing side quests and beating bosses and all optional bosses.

I loved the optional bosses....lots of fun. For myself, only two truly challenging. Having a ***** of a time with the final (or next to final for some) boss.....

beat bloodborne earlier today and wow is all i'm gonna say the last 2 bosses ramped up significantly in difficulty i mean but mergo wasn't too terrible i beat mergo in 2 try's but
Gehrman
on the other hand i had to sell a weapon just to buy more health potions as i got one shotted on him like 10 times but then i beat him and im only missing 3 trophies but i started ng+ its not even as hard as the last boss.
glad i played it but man did i get owned by some stupid stuff like trying to fight a boss only to get stuck in a tree and couldn't run from his attacks. What's funny is that some of the supposedly harder bosses like Ebrietas were super easy for me i beat that boss first try.

That is a very good read. Thanks. On my NG= character level 132 or so. Still having fun, though online is a ghost town
... yeah, that's why people who pvp stay on a certain lvl :(. I began doing Chalice dungeons, they are quite fun and have new bosses. Also they say the get insane difficult!

Just picked this up and I am stuck on the title screen. As soon as I boot the game up it goes to the title screen and then nothing.

Is this something I have to fix with the day one patch? I don't have access to Internet right now outside of my phone so that would suck pretty bad.

I got the platinum trophy for bloodborne today, I can't believe it as this is my first souls game. Those depth 5 chalice dungeon bosses were pretty hard but this game is all about overcoming challenges.

Bravo, that's a tough deal. Beating the game 3 times kind of deal breaker
