Actually it is mixed media. Plastic is a material. Cloth is another material. It is mixed media. I have never heard SS state the mixed media means pollystone and cloth.

You can have your opinion, but it's mine that's it's borderline retared to say that cost should equal weight.

I would have sent mine back over the broken range finder as well. I didn't have a problem with mine nor do I have a problem with the leg armor. The quality of mine was just fine.

If you get one cheaper good for you. I don't mind paying what I paid.

They could stop using polystone altogether for all I care. If they come out looking like Boba, fine by me. I've asked everyone who has seen my Boba lined up with all my other PFs to tell me if there is anything about Boba that seems subpar. Nada. I even let them hold it.

I like them being polystone but honestly it's the craftsmenship that I pay for on these items. Other than the weight which for me isn't that big of a deal I like what I've seen of Boba and it sounds like nobody can tell lookin gat him.

IMHO, if the item is made from less expensive materials, it should be less expensive. Because Sideshow had production problems that made Boba more expensive to produce, doesn't make ABS more valuable. Unless you are one of the owners of Sideshow Collectibles.

I purchase based on what I know and see, not what others think. I will most likely purchase Boba on the secondary market, but not at full price.

Any item is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. No more, no less. Would they have been able to sell the Balrog at $1500 initially? Of course not. But people were willing to pay that and more for it. Time will tell on this statue. Give it 12-18 months and we'll see where the price point has settled.

I agree, however, just because the material is less expensive doesn't mean the production process is less expensive. And I don't think either of us know the details for sure. I can understand your point that to you and Irish and others it isn't worth the price because of the ABS, however I'm not certain that the statue is overpriced from a production stand point.

The only thing I disagree with on that is that I think all star wars PF's have come way down in price on the secondary market, so they're all overpriced. Which of course may be the case.

The market is drying up though. It's not so easy to find a Vader and Obi right now. Han and Luke are just not that great and that's why they are cheap. I don't think they're over priced, I just think the ES's are a tad too high. Knock them back another 500-1000 and it'd be spot on. Most of these PF's have only been out a year so give the market some time and we will see. I have a feeling that these will be worth a lot more in the years to come.

Loki is right is worth whatever someone is willing to pay. The Balrog is a perfect example too. I paid $2200 for mine and for me it was worth every penny and then some. Some feel Fett isn't and that's totally cool. Even though he is made of ABS(which is considered a cheaper material by some) if the production of this figure was higher due to this his cost to us would be higher. That's part of what gets factored into the cost of these when we buy them.

I really didn't want to open this door again - but I haven't really been able to comment first hand about Boba because I didn't have him. Now that I do, I had to say that I like him! I really like him!

The knee armor slides around, I don't see that as a defect - it doesn't fall, just moves when you move it. Makes getting the tools into the shin pockets easier. Love the little leather straps on the belt in back - something you wouldn't see normally and is usually forgotten about in Boba figures, but not here. Even the jet pack seems to attach like it did on the real costume.

I had never thought about what the piece of cloth is that hangs from one shoulder, but having this figure it's obvious that it's used to cover the jet pack.

There are so many cool little details on this guy, it's too bad that everyone has been focused on, what I think, is a completely irrelevant matter.

And all the 12" figures are mixed media - there is no question about that, plastic, leather, cloth, metal - yep, mixed media.
