I get that but I don't get what does it mean for a guy to put in on a pedestal? what does the guy do to do that?
i dont get it

In other words, the man is idealizing the woman. This usually entails sacrificing personal dignity and common sense. In many cases, he will become a complete tool just to keep her around. If treatment is not sought, the subject will find themselves in a full-blown long term commitment by the time symptoms of gimp start to appear.

If you think she is worth the fight, then she probably is. Severing ties (for the most part) with my parents last year was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. My mother is extremely controlling (among other things). If she is miserable around her family, then maybe she can distance herself from them enough to give you and her another chance. If she wants to live next door to her parents, that would be a huge problem...your fight for her will be difficult and take a very long time. If she realizes how controlling her mother is, she may need your help with distancing herself. I am 41 and still can't handle my mother very easily. I was in my early thirties before I realized it was wrong of my mom to ever consider me her property. I wish you the best and hope she can get some freedom so you can have an honest chance with her.

I hope that made sense. Good luck!

at times compromising ones personal dignity and common sense is sufficient enough.

like setting your standards to: unattainable. :lol

Black........you don't know the girl, stop calling her a loser.

i mean of course I dont know her and Eli sounds like he really loved her, she was probably really nice,

but living with your parents at 26, there is no excuse, Sure i can understand getting fired and losing your home and having to crash there for a while,
but no respectable 26 grown up would still be living with their parents,
I bet if this was a man we were talking about you would agree, I guess because is a girl it doesnt seem as bad, but a guy would be call a loser and a weirdo and a mamma's boy and a comic book freak, you get the idea

That's an interesting and valid point.

Not anymore. It's more common than you think. There are 3 generations living in one household now. Sometimes life just dictates that to us.

btw......she's going to school.

yeah I don't mean to sound like I'm hating on her, and it might be common, but really if this was a guy we were talking about I bet every single person here would be ripping him a new one for living at home with parents,

Nope, cause quite a few of them do.

:nono I've seen several people give Josh a hard time (well, before Dave made him a mod :lol). :tap

yeah I agree, I know at work they all make fun of this guy and he is 24, he says he is moving soon but the guys still make fun of him all the time

I have a hard time getting a girl I wouldn't imagine what it would be like if I lived at home, I would probably still be a virgin LOL :rotfl

Why make fun of him?

What happens to you if you lose your job and can't find one? Gonna live in a cardboard box or will you move back home?
