I hated Jesse and I wanted to see him die.

Yet, his final moments in the car screaming. I felt good for him. I felt joy in his escape.

I Felt happiness about seeing him get away in the car....

Yeah, when I saw his screaming and smiling. I felt closure with that character. I was happy for him. Nothing let to hold him back and he could FINALLY get out of the game on his own free will.

You know what's interesting. The show averaged 1.5 million viewers for 4 seasons, and in the last season (season 5) it was averaging 4 -6+ million viewers. I'm not sure what happened or how it got so popular after 4 years?

That makes sense, because nobody was talking about Breaking Bad at the level they are today when I got into it. I came into in the latter part of the first half. I started posting on page 28 or 29 and that was just over a year ago. Since then this thread has nearly 400 pages. So there is truth to what you say. Interest in the show has really picked up in the last year and a bit.

I never hated Jesse. I hated his self-righteousness, at times, but, for the most part, he was a good person; I've seen that more and more each time I rewatched it. Then, seeing him in those subhuman conditions, and, then, what Todd and the white pride folks did to get to him. Well, let's just say that "Todd and that 'snap'" was one of the most gratifying moments in television history.

They should have a new dramedy about his carpentry shop in Alaska.:lol

And then we have crazy poster Chapter 2099 who has to outdo everyone by hitting the 500 post mark in this thread... Can he do it before he goes to bed? Absolutely! Time well spent. :panic:

And I am along for the ride. :panic:

I love the imagery of this episode. I love that Walt finally realizes that he's never going to redeem himself in the eyes of everyone else but him. To me, this was Walt redeeming himself, for himself. The imagery I'm referring to is that of Walt as an almost wraith like visage; right around the corner in Gretchen and Elliot's, hidden by the pillar in Skylar's house, sitting at the bar while Lydia and Todd were meeting, and, finally, standing over Jesse and Todd as Jesse got his revenge, emotionless, and almost on a different plane of existence, if you will.

Walt accepted his role as the monster at the end of the book; he accepted that, to Skylar, and Jesse, and Walt Jr., and Marie, and Gretchen, and Elliot, and Charlie Rose, and the rest of the world, he was Heisenberg. It was so brilliant because Walt's redemption came from the fact that he was redeemed to himself, and only himself.

He was putting his mind in a positive state. He didnt want to think about being enslaved so every time he cooked he imagined he was free doing something else er go making wooden boxes.

yes but why wood working?

What was the meaning behind that? he could have pictured himself doing anything at all. Swimming, using his drumset. anything at all

I would love to know what the meaning behind the wood was

You don't remember the story he told to his rehab group; how he was happy when he was crafting a dresser (or something along those lines) for his woodshop class?

yeah he was like a grim reaper when you think about it that way. A creature of shadows.

Even when he is looking at Flynn he is doing it from behind the glass. hiding. Almost like a ghost.

the way he moved in the episode and kept sneaking up on people was like if he was a ghost already

Definitely, and then, as Gretchen and Elliot are entering their home, he literally IS shadow; you just see those legs uncross from the darkness on the porch.

Yeah, you especially get that when Skylar expects him to say for the umpteenth time, "I did it for the family." Instead she was taken back when he responded with, "No, I did it for me. I liked it. I was good at it." Yes, I probably butchered the quote. I don't have a crazy memory like some of you guys on here, but I was like, hey, for a second there you want to pull for the guy all over again... ignore all the douche bag **** he has pulled from previous episodes/seasons.

Jesse told a story to his rehab group(in season 3?) about a woodshop teacher pushing him to do his best in class after just skating by on subpar and lazy work. So he applied himself and made a beautiful wooden box with intricate carvings and so forth and said he gave it as a loving gift to his mom. Then when the rehab group went all googly eyes at his story, he said he lied about giving it to his mom and actually traded it for some drugs. The point being that he was really good at woodwork when he tried.

yeah I totally forgot about that.

I love how these people didn't forget one single thing.

In Dexter you couldn't go from one episode to the next without losing half of the backstory.

I love how these guys running the show Never forgot about what they did before. That is rare
