Yeah, it pisses me off when they play games with the collectors by removing it from stock to make it look like it's going to be sold out, so that people think that its harder to get a hold of so they get on the waitlist (which is emmedietly and mysteriously turned into an order) because they dont want to miss out. Then SS places it back in stock so other people jump on it because they think that there is only a few left and they still want to get a hold of the piece before its gone. Only to find out a week later that the company is now coming out with a rehashed version that has a slightly different paint job on it.

Get the ____ out of here Sideshow!

Yeah they always play the 'fake sold out' and 'fake waitlist' games. They have finessed it into an art and it's even more effective with the NRD because when it goes back in stock you're already committed.

I think the two versions will be noticeably different in person, so it's not like they're just releasing the exact same thing. It's hard to take pictures that make the differences clear, especially using Sideshow's normal photography techniques. That said, it is kind of a lame move (like the "battle damaged" Iron Man bust they released a while back).

Good point... I guess it really isn't anything new. Just the first time we've seen this happen with a 1:1 Star Wars bust.

Be on the look out for the upcoming 1:1 Gartogg and the last 5 Cantina Band members each with unique eye positioning :lol

there is so much more that should have been released before this spin-off droid bust!

I dunno, I don't even collect the 1:1 or PF stuff, and this move has me confounded and irritated. It seems like the collectors of those lines are paying a lot more per pop than we 1:6 folks and should enjoy some degree of exclusivity on an item marketed as "limited" (besides, for the most part, we action figure types tend to like repaints of things like clones to build up our 'armies' - they represent new characters for our collections). Is there even a need or outcry from collectors for another run of "clean" C-3PO? How many scenes contain "clean" C-3PO? Maybe 20 seconds worth in ROTS and a couple blink-and-you'll-miss-'em shots at the end of ANH? It seems stupid. The only result can be to anger those who already have the original bust. Bad, BAAAAD decision making, the kind that drives people away from collecting, rather than luring them in...

:goodpost:

I just talked to Jen over at Sideshow and she said that the new
C-3po bust will be shinnier and will not come with the restraining bolt. She also said that it will aslo be an open edition and that they plan on pushing it's ES as far as they could.

I really think Im going to cancel it and maybe, maybe, order it later as it will not be a priority.

What's next re-releasing the Vader bust with bushy eye brows on the Anakin reveal and calling it the Non Special Edition OT version? If so put me down for 6!
:rolleyes2:rolleyes2:rolleyes2:rolleyes2:rolleyes2:rolleyes2
