Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Subtle differences throughout. I like the updates.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Just saw the trailer and I have to say it looks literally 100 times better than the trainwreck of a first flick. Sorry, but Johnston's WW2 laser lightshow was a joke.

The only thing is that damn helmet. Oh well, Captain Dildo rides again. Looks way more interesting than Thor 2 at least.

Helmet looks way better than the Avengers eggheaded dildo helmet, too. :lol

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Helmet still DESTROYS the Avenger CrAP hood.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

It seems at least anyway that he isn't wearing it half as much here. Put it on when you jump out of a plane with no parachute, that I'm ok with. Even though it's an actual Seinfeld joke. But keep it off as much as possible in every other scene.

The trailer was awesome! Still couldn't see if they changed Widow's outfit, too fast was her action scene and too dark. :dunno

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Good bias there buddy. :lol

Truth be told I was actually pretty biased AGAINST liking Cap:TFA until I saw the first stills and trailer.

Here's my reaction to the announcement that Chris Evans would be playing Steve Rogers that I posted way back on March 22nd, 2010:

Terrible choice. Joe Johnston should stick to drawing sketches of Boba Fett.

Boy did they prove me wrong!

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

In fairness I said the exact same about Evans. And I too came around on him playing Steve. While I still think I would have preferred someone just a touch older, he did a good job with the limited material he was given. But don't tell me for a second all of us weren't expecting a serial like Raiders and Rocketeer when Johnston was brought onboard. What we got instead was a cross between GIJoe cartoons and Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon. Nothing about that camp rescue scene says World War 2 and I mean nothing. THe facility looks like a building from Blade Runner, the Nazis look like Hellghast and the weapons are straight out of Star Wars. I expected an action film with a world war 2 backdrop(like this new movie is an action film with a modern day backdrop) and instead got a sci-fi movie set on alternate earth in the future.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

I thought it was much better than The Rocketeer and I really did get a Raiders vibe from it (no I'm not saying it was perfect in every way like Raiders but it did carry the torch nicely IMO.)

A "goody-two shoes" hero throwing knives into peoples' backs, tossing dazed henchman off of airplanes, and hanging on while guys get sucked into propellers. I hadn't seen anything that cool in an adventure serial format *since* Raiders (or at least TOD.) But eh, to each his own.

I *****ed about the "You, Me, and Dupree" guys getting to do the sequel and now this new trailer look awesome. I need to just shut up about any misgivings I have regarding Evans Cap films apparently. :lol

I still don't get how you got that but missed the obvious references. :lol
