but you just said "it's got wolverine and blade so I don't care"
that's how these writers are operating. that's literally how wolverine and Deadpool was written " we just fill the movie with jokes and cameos"
the new Spider-Man is rumored to bring back all 3 of them again. which means another end of the world plot. why else would you need all 3 spider men back?

there's no way in hell that the next spiderman is a smaller movie.
That’s nothing but a rumor and they’d be dumb to let that happen

yeah. thank you for proving my point.
it's an awful superhero movie with an awful story.

if you wanted to write a "book report" style paper on that movie, focusing only on the story, you couldn't. exactly

that's what I was replying to ironwez about. he said that most marvel movies didn't have good stores except Deadpool wolverine.
and you just proved what I was saying.

it would be like trying to describe the plot of epic movie. you can't
Sorry, but I proved no such thing. Definitely on different wavelengths lol…

Just got back and... the movie isn't terrible. There's a decent sense of mystery early on and the story, such as it is, flows better than I would have expected given all the reshoots. And Mackie and Ford bring just enough heart and gravitas to keep you engaged throughout.

But the whole thing still feels seriously undercooked. The dialogue has no real spark, the humor is flat, and the directing in general is completely uninspired and gives some serious Disney+ energy. Although frankly the Falcon and Winter Soldier series was a whole lot more competently made than this (and had far better action sequences).

Honestly it doesn't feel like Marvel even tried to bring their A game to this movie. Which is strange given they got freakin Harrison Ford to star in it.

Captain America: Brand New Flop

Spoiling red hulk in the trailer was stupid.

Also Bucky not being the new cap still baffles me.

Sebastian Stan is an incredible actor with a huge following and great on screen presence. They could have had the character wrestle with the fact that the government hates him for his past crimes as Winter Soldier, the people don't like him because of the framing in civil war, and then have him try to deal with the movie's conflict while grappling with that. You can even keep Falcon because the two of them have great chemistry together.

Anyway the movie was fine, it's not awful. I was entertained. But the cinematography was boring, the directing was uninspired, the acting was average, and the casting for the one agent was weird. Action scenes were fun enough and well done. Plot was... There. Overall it's the the equivalent of eating white bread straight from the bag. Safe, boring, bland. 6/10

I'll remember this. and quote you back when it happens lol.
I'll even bookmark it mentally book mark it.

no recent marvel movie except guardians of the galaxy 3 has been written well. that was my point to ironwez.

Deadpool 3 is like a parody movie like meet the Spartans. the plot never mattered. it wasn't the point of the movie to have a good plot. only the jokes matter. only the cameos mattered.
and we can agree on that.

that's why I kept calling it dull. but not bad. just dull. not even boring but very low energy.

Does Red Hulk use the Ford finger...?

Does anyone remember what Ford's actually done? I think Witness was a big deal back in the day, a couple of great/fun Indiana Jones flicks ... the OT ... he's not terrible or anything but I feel like he's more of a name than an actor. Am I just suffering from amnesia? Someone correct me.

blade runner gives him a lot of power among nerdies.

D&W for what it is, was entertaining with a standout performance by HJ.

That being said as an MCU narrative movie it was 100% pointless, the villain was pointless.

Even as a Fox homage movie it missed many cameos (Jane/Affleck) but what was there was decent enough plus it introduced Gambit and of course the return of Snipes Blade.

As an X-Men tragedy movie it failed miserably at showing their demise.

But with the disgusting behavior by Reynolds and Lively with his high powered crisis management legal firm paying off NYT (shocker I know) reporters to write a fake “me too” narrative against a nobody like director Baldoni, it really REALLY 100% turned me off to Reynolds and his DP character I hope to never see him again as DP!

Him and Lively need to go away for good.

Thanks for bringing back Snipes but now take your own advise and BYE BYE BYE!

I hope they end up penniless and hopefully criminality charged which won’t happen but a man can dream lol

Those paid off reporters and editor should’ve been fired

There is no better irony than hiring a super expensive legal crisis management firm that backfires and returns a huge unmanageable crisis back onto you, some fixer lol

Shame on you Sony executives for allowing all of that, there were plenty of issues.

Wealthy people sure are dumb sometimes, all of that money and influence just to blow up in your face all because your wife is horny for another dude sheesh.

I thought he was good in Patriot Games & Clear and Present Danger, even though I thought Alec Baldwin in Hunt For Red October was closer to the Jack Ryan in the Clancy books.

I wasn't disputing your opinion on the quality of Marvel's plots, but rather saying my comments proved your point. I was being playful with semantics & nothing more...

Even though I won’t go watch this movie I feel no shame admitting that I am still cautiously optimistic and excited for Thunderbolts, F4 and obviously DD, that’s just the geek in me.

I read the plot already and will watch it eventually in pieces on Youtube.

Eventually, I don’t know when but eventually, Disney will have to pull their heads out of their butts and realize that they are leaving a lot of money on the table with their brain dead sabotaging of their brands.

Fire people for crying out loud.

and I understand why people love Deadpool 3 and I understand the hype. I'm not saying it wasn't "epic" for what they did. I know it was epic. getting those actors back was a really hard job. I understand how important was to have mustard wolverine.
I understand how the jokes were nostalgia driven and funny

but marvel hasn't had one well written project since end game ( and even endgame poo the bed a little bit with time travel stuff )
not even any of the TV shows has great writing.
just, nothing.

I will agree that I'm extremely excited to see daredevil again and I think it will be good.
thunderbolts will be fun.
fantastic 4 might be good.
let's hope.

I agree 100% about spoiling Red Hulk. As for the plot, I can't help thinking that we might be having a completely different conversation about its quality if not for that spoiler. 20 years from now some noob movie critic will probably watch this film and give it much higher marks, unaware of the spoiler's influence on 2025 reviews.

i don't think so.
red hulk was underwhelming and underused.
the fight was cool but you felt tired by the time it happens,
the political stuff in the movie was tiring.

the red hulk scene wasn't epic or high energy or anything. you're really tired of the movie by the time it comes.

This movie was odd. For some reason it just felt so low energy. Partially due to Harrison Ford’s age showing, but also just generally. It felt very phoned in.

I like Anthony Mackie as Sam/Cap so no problems there. It just didn’t feel like a big MCU movie. It felt more like something that should have been on Disney+ but got a theatrical release.

Not awful and I’m not upset I saw it but just very mid tier. I’d say around three stars.
