I must have missed the screaming head on the WS figure. And sure, hot toys has gotten lazy. By quadrupling their work on a yearly basis, when compared to number of figures produced. And not just in number but complexity And quality has vastly increased. From a remote controlled, adjustable ride height batmobile to a nearly 2 foot tall unique iron man (hulkbuster) to a new 1/4 scale line to a 17 inch ultron to the antman helmet that has an adjustable face plate, human face, and light up features (all new) to wired capes to so much more. Yep, totally letting themselves go. Lazy as a navy seal. Fat as pro body builder. It's just to bad half their customer base is ...well You get the point.

Stupid actor rights! I was hoping for masked characters, especially War Manchine.

Man you really need to relax on the defending HT side of things. I can ***** about the third release of the same sculpt if I want. But if I were making a figure of the main character from their biggest release this year, I would make a new sculpt instead of a lazy repaint.

Also, how are those 1/4 Batman v Superman figure coming along by the way? They took that show by storm last week, the boards were on fire.

Unless you're Batman, the advertisers and studios really don't like having you in a mask anyway. A large number of the Marvel movie posters have the characters without masks. That's just a difference in working with a comic book vs. live-action.

That hawkeye poster is wrong. He is left handed and his bare sleeve is supposed to be on his left arm. How could they muck that up? 😂

It's not the first time. In that image where he's shooting antman he's holding the bow this way. In avengers 1 there was a one like this. Same for Aou. And if he's holding the bow in his left then that should be the sleeved arm. The sleeve is to prevent the bow string from hitting skin. That **** hurts.

Is it just me or does it seem like the majority of the promo art and items going out have been increasingly kiddie? It feels more and more like every art piece was designed for a lunchbox more than anything.

A lot of promo art ends up getting pasted on merchandise, often kids product when it comes to these CBMs. But I don't think this is new for CW, I've always felt past artwork from prior MCU films all have that sort of direction. Maybe you find the theatrical promo materials to also have a similar look and feel as the promo art?

Pretty much everything Marvel has ever done has had a bunch of art for products aimed at kiddies. Kiddies are one of their biggest audiences.

I'm also against the unmasked photos.

They've always done maskless photos. If they're paying all these actors, they're gonna get the promotional aspect out of them.

I actually feel the theatrical poster art to be far more mature, if that's what you're referring to. I'm not sure what it is about the concept art this time around, but with the strange angles (there are a few where Sharon has these crazy neck kinks), lack of emotion, and excessive amounts of color, it feels like they were told to make the concept art work first as merchandise plastering material rather than art. I always felt like it was the other way around, cool art was suitably used for mech because it looks cool, whereas here it's like it's being forced to be cool. If that makes sense?

As I said above, I always felt cool art was used for merch where this time around it feels like they are forcing it to be cool which in turn is a detractor.

To be fair though, I never wore or carried around much licensed merchandise when I was the "kiddie target audience" age. Maybe I have a skewed impression of this. It never was my thing, I usually kept my interests to myself. And oddly enough now in University I'm far more open about wearing shirts/items that have things I like on them, given I can fit it into my wardrobe in a classy manner. Heck last semester I used a set of Avengers folders haha. Interesting how times have changed.

Haha that's too bad. I loved that Karl Urban loved and respected Dredd so much as a character that he NEVER takes the helmet off and you never see him without it. Taken he isn't as huge as these actors and Dredd isn't as big a character but I give him props for that.

Yeah I'm glad he kept the helmet on throughout the movie. :rock

Captain America and Falcon gets to keep their masks on but Iron Man, Ant-Man, Black Panther and War Machine can't?

Falcon doesn't have a mask, he has a pair of goggles. Captain America has a mask but his eyes and lower jaw are all exposed. You can tell it's Chris Evans.

Ant-Man, Iron Man, Black Panther, and War Machine all have masks that cover their entire face.

It's a completely different situation. Dredd is like V from V For Vendetta. The fact that his face is never shown is a huge part of his character. The Avengers show their faces in the comics all the time.

Personally, I don't need to be constantly reminded of whose underneath the mask. I know who they are. They have enough screen time out of suit anyway. When the time comes for your super heroic acts and posing for a magazine/DVD/movie poster, leave your damn mask on.

lol

Once again, these are paid actors, some of whom are making a bunch of cash in these movies. If I'm paying Robert Downey Jr. millions of bucks to play Iron Man you're damn right I'm putting his face on the posters.

If this were just about people in masks and costumes you wouldn't even need actors to begin with.
