Re: Captain America 3 (May 6, 2016)

We keep on saying Civil war but isn't the working title of this film Fallen Son? Is that different from Civil War? I think this news is awesome as I think it adds some much needed weight and drama to the MCU especially in the Iron Man world. I still think this was a contract thing holding up the news of this film, Marvel probably wanted to wait to see how this summer went for them before committing to this project to get RDJ for a cheaper pay check. He most likely won't make 100+ million on this film like he did on Avengers and Iron Man 3, which is probably what marvel most likely wanted to avoid.

This could also just be a one off film that has everything resolved by the end of it. These guys are talking about leaving their roles so if this is going to happen, I think it needs to happen sooner rather than later before these two guys leave Marvel.

Like EF asks, who on earth could follow RDJ? Even if it was a good actor, he wouldn't be the same kind of character. I can't imagine it, without at least a "soft" reboot of some kind.

I think he's saying that RDJ is a plastic, hollow shell that's dead inside.

Re: Captain America 3 (May 6, 2016)

I think he's saying that RDJ made that role a monster and anyone else playing it would just be a cream puff trying to impersonate RDJ. You can't change Stark now. RDJ defined the role anyone else would be an imitation.

Re: Captain America 3 (May 6, 2016)

The problem I see with recasting Tony Stark is they turned Tony Stark into RDJ and nobody can play RDJ as well as RDJ

To bad Marvel do not have the skills then we can have civil war lead in to the invasion story line

Nah man. I still don't understand how a Civil War story would work for these movies. The world already knows who Iron Man and Captain America really are and all of shields files went public. Who's identities would they be fighting to keep secret/reveal to the public? There isn't a vast roster of Avengers characters yet, there's no X-Men, Spider-Man. Civil War needs A LOT of characters to work otherwise it's not much of a war, just a quarrel between Avengers. Not only that, the MCU Stark would never be pro-government:

Unless they take the story in a VERY different direction, this whole thing sounds kinda dumb. I rather they did something original, than a half-assed Civil War.

Between those Iron Man movies and Cap 2, pretty much no one but Rhodey is Pro-Government. Even Black Widow's like "**** you, if you've got a problem, the Hulk will be happy to assist you," when they're trying to hand down indictments or whatever.:lol MCU Civil War: The Avengers vs. Rhodey and The Abomination. Rhodey and The Abomination proceed to get slaughtered.

Where are you getting the Abomination, that movie doesn't count. :lol
