Movie-Wise, she said she met him once and he shot her during an escort mission (CA:TWS). In the comics, Buck as WS was her trainer in the Red Room and they had a fling. After regaining his memories, they became a couple. Towards the end of his solo, she lost all memory of him, ending their relationship.

Oh yeah, I actually just watched winter solider before this. They were together on a team then right? And he had to shoot through her. Gotchya

I am not defensive, i know everyone has their opinions... I said a couple things and like 5 people commented with laughing emojis and "voices in my head" "whut" without even quoting me. What do you expect me to do. I'm just on here having fun talking about a movie and reading stuff I may have missed. My bad

Well, the majority didn't find enough problems to drag it down to a 7. For most of us, it's a 9-10/10 movie. You found some, which is cool and all. It's just that maybe you should back up your opposing views a bit better. Why didn't you feel there was no emotional payoff? Why did you feel it was too safe? Stuff like that.

Nope. In the MCU, allegedly, she met him once, when he tried to kill the person she was escorting. In the comics they were together on a team.

This is an interesting tidbit. I was wondering what that was all about.

In TWS though, didn't she say she was rescuing someone and the WS shot her to kill the one she was rescuing?

Only the voices about the emotional impact of ASM2....It was all in jest...enjoy the conversations and ribbing that comes along with different opinions in movie section. Unless your die hard DC Fangirl....they go extreme with different opinions but otherwise most folks just having fun. No ill will meant by voices comment...

Speaking of Widow and Bucky squabble....she was all wrapped around his head facing north in his mug before getting choke slammed on the table....Stan has my admiration for that one :monkey3

Idk I typed plenty of stuff out ... I don't feel like tearing it apart though 7/10 I liked it. My biggest gripes are spidey and Panther. Being as big a fan of them as I am and hearing that they were the best characters I was very disappointed. Just personal opinion, it really irked me the amount of cgi that was used on the both of them, spidey looked like play do. I loved the avengers stuff, the opening , the airport fight. The villain was bad. He set them up, but they were fighting over the accords anyway. The villain was upset about his family dying and then blows up a whole building? I can see how they got into a huge battle and I can see how anyone can comment and fill in the holes with "all the depth of the characters" from all the other movies, but it was still forced. Idk if it was too safe, but it kind of went in circles and everything was fine by the end. Rhodey could have died and we would all live to see another day, I doubt anyone would have been that heart broken .....

Oh, but then what would remembering her do for her benefit?

The whole plot at the end had me wonder that too. But his plan was to have em fight with each other. Hence why he said, stronger people than I have tried and failed. Pretty much classic, dupe em to fight em tactic. He did everything because his justification is that the end justifies the means. Even just going back in my head, you can understand that. Maybe a second viewing would make it a bit more natural.

I personally liked Panther and Spidey, so I can't say much. Only CGI that was meh for me was Ant-Man. Hopefully in Ant-Man and the Wasp, it will be more fluid.

As for the Rhodey thing, my guess has to do with em being needed for IW. It wouldn't make sense to kill off some very important people before Thanos. Which makes me wonder why they'd kill of Quicksilver last year.

But one thing I do have a problem, and lowers my score to a 97/100; is where were they going with the whole Pepper thing? It made it out to be something very important in the film, and it only just made Tony more mopey.

Cool good to know. But I was talking about raimis spiderman 2 not asm2. Even though now that you mention it Gwen Stacy dying was still more emotional than anything in this, if only because they played so well off each other and Emma stone is so likable.

I'm still with Stark though (to an extent). You can't be above the law.
S.H.I.E.L.D. operated under the law. Where are they now? Right, underground and hunted by lawful.

Cap is right in saying that the 170 Nations in the Accords will all have their own agendas.
Even BP agrees that two people talking can get more done than 100.

If you lead a team of Avengers and saw what happened with SHIELD, how can you willingly work for these "170 Nations"?
Nothing would ever get accomplished.
:goodpost: :exactly: :lecture

Seeing Nat kick ass in that opening credit, honestly makes me want a Widow film more. I wasn't for that idea, but she was exceptional! Add her with Hawkeye and probably Bucky, it'd be a ****ing fantastic film! Russos are setting up the table and they are delivering. If they did that for Widow, it'd be a sellout. And would be nice to see more females take lead since we got Captain Marvel and The Wasp as the only headliners.

I saw it last night -liked it a lot and would give it 8 out 10. I liked CA:WS much more- that was a tighter movie, the whole conspiracy storyline with SHIELD and HYDRA and I missed Nick Fury in CW.

And in my opinion, the critics over-rated CW and under-rated B vs. S. I may be in the minority, but I didn't despise B vs S as much as everyone on this board (I am not that invested in the DC characters, always been more of a Marvel fan)

That's why I'm so interested in the widow /Bucky thing. Her scenes were just too cool, I'd love to know they had a hidden back story , but I guess not.

I loved BVS. And honestly I rate both CW and BvS about a 9-10/10. Batman being brutal was a selling point for me. Normally Marvel's combat has been meh. But TWS had some incredible fight sequences (the highway was my favorite), to see it get topped off in this was badass. I do agree many have been unfair to BvS. Seeing it the 2nd time I loved it even more. Explains my 11 viewings. :lol

8/10.

Dug Spider-Man. Dug Black Panther. Dug
Giant Man
.

Expected something much more resonant, like TWS. This felt more like Avengers 2.5.

Marvel Studios keeps playing it safe. The comics have so much more emotional weight. These movies just won't go the distance. I honestly wish they hadn't called this Civil War.

I don't think it's a matter of playing safe. It was noted that CW happened because of BvS. Also you can't hit that level with the comic book without having FF and X-Men. I think it was the best with what they got. I think if Ragnarok happened first, it'd be better.
