That bothered me a bit as well, but like Parker, he was a giant fan of Cap. Lang, even in the comics, is easily impressionable and does things at the spur of the moment without thinking about the consequences too much. Imagine a living legend like Cap asks such a guy to help him. It ain't that weird for him to rush into a conclusion without thinking about the end results. It did bother me, but it's not a big plot hole IMO.

I just thought it was a dumb thing to do by Stark.

The rest is fine, Spidey was perfect and yeah, his banter with everybody including cap was fantastic, and like you said, it's not really tied to a plot point so it's fine.

Btw, is Cap that strong in the comics? I've read a couple Cap comics but I've never seen feats of strength like bringing down a chopper, kicking a truck, etc etc.

Yes, definitely. He's even been demonstrated to hold his own against the Hulk (mostly by moving really quickly and hitting key points like the inside of his knees)

Cool, those scenes were awesome.

Man, Cap has to have the best trilogy of CBMS of all time.

I don't agree.

TFA had a great first act but the film fell apart the moment he got the suit.

TWS was the perfect Cap film.

CW was barely a Cap movie. Panther and Tony had the best story beats.

I honestly wish this had just been CAP 3 featuring Cap's Avengers crew.

Yeah, Cap's a beast. Which is why match-ups like Batman vs Black Panther and Batman vs Captain America are dumb as hell. Batman vs Spider-Man is one of the most one sided match-ups ever. It takes a special kind of fanboy to say that Batman wins a random encounter versus the Goddamn Spider-Man.

Captain America 1 was mediocre at best

Again I wake up this morning and I'm still excited over the experience. The cap films have been the best trilogy from marvel and the best superhero movies to date. Civil war was an outstanding film. Sure it has some problems but not a lot because I was hooked and on the edge of my seat. Sure no one dies but I dont think they were trying to kill each other. They didn't want too. They are all friends. Perfect movie I'm so happy with how the film turned out. The Russo brothers are great. I cannot wait to see more from them.

I think many MCU films are mediocre at best.

But Cap 1 isn't one of them, it's a very good movie. And the Cap trilogy imo is the best because it's been remarkably consistent in quality.

Spiderman, Batman, Superman, etc etc, most of them have great two movies and then the third one is a stinker or subpar, I think CW is at least as good as TWS, but I haven't made up my mind, I have to see it again.

I don't think involving the FF & X-MEN would have raised the stakes. They took the concept of Civil War and turned it into a safe ten minute skirmish between friends
where Rhodey almost got paralyzed
. All of the political ideology got watered down to "The world thinks you guys are a problem even though you've saved it three times." I rolled my eyes in that scene. In the comic, Cap and Tony have a legitimate argument. To register is to expose yourself to the public eye the way Tony did from the very beginning. To stay masked was to become an enemy of the state.

The trailers were glorious. It looked like war. The movie was just Cap protecting Bucky from Ross and Panther. That's it.
Nobody died nor did I ever feel any real sense of danger for any of the characters
.

I think you (and some others) need to stop looking at the movies in the context of their Marvel comics' story-line counterparts. Feige himself even said that the movie sub-titles are just borrowing the title and small elements of the comic stories and there is still to be little correlation between the two.

They aren't meant to be direct adaptions.

When the comics storyline the film is based on is better than the film, you got a problem.

No, things don't need to be identical. Creative license is warranted - but the final product should still remain as resonant and impacting as the source.

The Civil War movie was entertaining. The Civil War comic was heartbreaking.

Could you imagine trying to bring the complete civil war comic story to any screen? It would have to a complete series in itself. There would be so much explaining to do let alone doing the story correctly.

1. Cap 2
2. Cap 1 / Iron Man
3. The Avengers / Civil War

The only MCU films I like, so far.

I never got what was so mediocre about TFA to some folks.

I guess I might call it mediocre, myself, only because it's one of the least satisfying MCU films for overall watching. For me, it could almost be two movies and what hurts it for me is how many of Cap's adventures with Bucky and such are rushed in a montage. A lot of the movie is spent following Steve's journey, which is compelling, but I'd have almost liked to tell that story, and leave off with him fully taking on the Captain America persona, then have the second film be about his adventures after that and the battle to defeat hydra.

I guess it's not so much that the movie is mediocre, but rather, has a lot of good things in it, but some feel rushed over and it's like, damn, I want more, I always feel like there isn't enough time with Cap being Cap. I wasn't really into Cap until Winter Soldier and Ultron really gave us a good showing of him in full persona, now I really enjoy him.

This movie may make me buy some MCU dolls.

I can't get over Vision and BP.

Capten!

**** that accent was cool, and then the bullets bouncing off of his vibranium suit.

And that final moment in the snow, daaaamn.

I need to watch it again asap.

For me, TFA is one of the best MCU films, but I will agree that I would've liked to have seen more of his WW2 adventures. Honestly, an Invaders prequel wouldn't be so bad. Bucky, Cap, the Human Torch, Union Jack and Namor plus the Howling Commandos (you can add Nick Fury Sr. in there, and have Sam Jackson Fury be his son) versus the Super-Axis would be damn great.

MCU for me:

1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) 10/10
2. The Avengers (2012) 10/10
3. Iron Man (2008) 9/10
4. Guardians of The Galaxy (2014) 9/10
5. The Incredible Hulk (2008) 8/10
6. Civil War (2016) 8/10
7. Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) 7.5/10
8. Thor (2011) 7.5/10
9. Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) 7/10
10. Iron Man 2 (2010) 6/10
11. Ant-Man (2015) 6/10
12. Iron Man 3 (2013) 5/10
13. Thor: The Dark World (2013) 5/10
