What's great with these Evans/Russo movies is that they really are making the "definitive" versions of these films right out of the gate. Not saying that Cap's origin or even the Russo films can't be improved upon (good luck though) but none of them have that "missed opportunity" vibe of so many other cbm's that tackle classic stories from print.

Marvel doesn't *ever* have to show Cap's origin again, or ever revisit the Winter Soldier or Civil War storylines, etc. Whereas even after being referenced in 17 different movies Miller's The Dark Knight Returns STILL doesn't feel properly realized on film, nor does The Dark Phoenix Saga, The Death of Superman or Gwen Stacy's death, etc.

I'm still waiting for Capt to wear this mask. It's better looking than the helmet, imo.

On another note, effing Disney needs to release reprints of these posters to the public NOW. :cuss

Why, why, WHY were these not hung in theaters across the nation? :gah:

WB has had decades to do different takes on Batman- way before Marvel created this movie universe. They do different versions. Give MCU another two decades of films and you'll see different versions of the origin of Cap, Spidey and IM

So Spider-Man, GOTG 2 and Thor 2 next year? I'm glad we'll finally have a summer without RDJ or Evans for the first time since 2009. We NEED a break to make Inifinity War as exciting as it can be.

Yep and they took a comic miniseries event that spanned two years and 56 titles and somehow honed it all into a 2.5 hour Cap sequel that didn't feel bloated, forced, convoluted, etc.
I actually think it was way better than the comic. Only thing I might have like to see is a scene where SHIELD themselves try to bring cap down like the comics. But the movie wasn't bogged down by too many unimportant characters and kept a straighter focus.

Hopefully either Sebastian Stan or Anthony Mackie.

Yes, that would be an interesting way to keep Evans as "Steve Rogers" and still have a convenient in-universe reason for why Cap is being played by a different actor. I'd be fine with either, hell just suit 'em both up and pick the one who looks cooler. :lol

I'm happy you brought this up because at the end when he and Bucky are going down the elevator in Siberia they filmed his helmet in amazing shadow which gave off that exact kind of texture! I bet khev knows what i'm talking about.

That actually was a cool shot. :lol Good thing no one has 4:3 TV's anymore or that scene would have been **** at home. :lol

are you not counting on RDJ to have a large role in Spiderman? My only real question with his involvement in the Spiderman movie is will be suit up as Iron Man. It would be pretty cool to see them fight alongside one another.

Damn...some ugly truths we all know exists being made public...

MAY, 16 2016 IRON MAN 3 DIRECTOR SHANE BLACK SAYS 'REAL' MANDARIN WAS MARVEL'S APOLOGY TO FANS

Plus, the original villain in the film was a woman.

BY NICOLE CARPENTER
Marvel's short film "All Hail the King" was a response to Iron Man 3, according to director Shane Black.

"Marvel saw so many negative things they made a whole other movie just to apologize called [sic] Hail to the King," Black told Uproxx's Mike Ryan when the topic of negative online comments regarding Iron Man 3 came up. "In which they said, 'No, no, the Mandarin is still alive. That wasn't him. There's a real Mandarin." The only reason it was made, he added, was to apologize to angry fans.
All Hail The King - Opening Scene

Marvel didn't expect backlash to Iron Man 3's treatment of the character—in fact, the studio thought fans would "eat it up."
"It never occurred to us the Mandarin is as iconic to people as, say, the Joker in Batman," Black said. "[Fans] just wanted to see the magic rings shoot lasers."

Black also revealed there was an "early draft" of the film where the villain was a woman. The director was explicitly told by Marvel executives the villain could not be a woman "because, after consulting, [they] decided that toy won't sell as well it it's a female."
What Avengers: Infinity War Writers Learned From Writing Captain America: Civil War

The director said that both Iron Man 3's Stéphanie Szostak and Rebecca Hall had their roles reduced from an early draft of the script. Because of "Marvel corporate"—and not Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, Black stressed—the writers had to change the entire script. In the draft, the female character was essentially Guy Pearce's Killian character, and the major difference was the gender.
