Regardless, most of those "trilogies" aren't trilogies anymore. Indy and Aliens have more than 3 films. Even Star Wars isn't really a trilogy anymore.
Sure they are. They're just "trilogies plus some other ****," or in the case of The Force Awakens "a trilogy and the start of another trilogy."

Clown Prince is right, though. It's not a trilogy anymore, and never even really was as the original 3 were all basically stand alone films with very little continuity.
Still a better trifecta overall, though.

Nah, he actually digs these movies and loves Chris Evans' Cap.
Raiders is "better" yes but I've always been a bigger fan of Cap. So even though TWS is a notch below that would be my desert island choice over Raiders. We can't *all* have the exact same favorites now can we?
I'd say TWS is more than just a notch below RAIDERS (again, timeless and perfect)... but to each his own.

Jaws and Raiders nail the first two, but other films (The Winter Soldier, the original Star Wars) edge them out due to me not loving Indy and sharks as much as Han and Cap.

I take Raiders over any Capt movie for now, but mostly because of nostalgia and because Capt is relatively new, so Indy feels more like a true Hollywood "classic." In 10 or 15 years, I might see the Capt trilogy as a "classic" too.

Yeah it was funny watching them all go quiet a little while ago when we were all having that discussion with JAWS about obscure 70's/80's movies and also how films like JAWS, Close Encounters, Poltergeist, etc., really captured that era of time on film.
Well that's a pretty safe damn claim, no one (not even Cap fans) will give you a hard time about that.
