That is pulled straight from a WWE type storyline.

It totally is! :rotfl

Cap: "So are you here for WCW?" *light applause* "Or are you here for the N...W...O...?" *crowd goes wild* And then he changes allegiances, and back again, etc.

This is why I'm a Volume 1 Cap purist. Cap Wolf and Battle Armor Cap are looking pretty damn sweet right now. :lol

Come on now. Cap clearly isn't Hydra. He's just going deep undercover. Now Hydra were undercover as SHIELD agents but Cap is going deep, deep, deep undercover. A good guy posing as bad guys who formerly posed as good guys.

Eh, I'm open to it. I like villain books. It's why, even though I despise Bendis, I love Dark Avengers. I get why this angers fans, but eh, it's comics. What I don't like however, is how Tumblr and Twitter have exploded and are sending angry messages to the writer. It's Superior Spider-Man all over again! Me, I'm just gonna sit back, and enjoy the ride...

I'm sure it's just an alternate universe Rogers who will don an "evil" version of the suit at the end of the series when original universe Steve makes his dun dun dun DRAMATIC RETURN. These gimmicks are so predictable that I'm surprised anyone even bothers to nerd rage over them anymore. I was going to say that he'll probably also turn out to be a gay transgendered hermaphrodite but then I remembered that Rob Liefeld already went that route with Cap.

Well, Spencer said that that's the legit Cap. Most people are putting their money on the Red Skull, who recently acquired some telepathic abillties. In either case, just be glad we're not getting this:

Extremely NSFW:

I'm not kidding.

Seriously.

They sure are temporary but they're dumb as hell. Classic modern Marvel.

Although people don't get to complain if they're not reading the comics.

Is it stupid? Well, yeah, but it could be fun. Same with Rebirth. 3 Jokers? Doctor Manhattan? It could go very wrong, but I'm intrigued. Eh, at least we still have indie books. I'm so stoked for Hickman's Black Monday Murders.

At least Cap is back to # 1 until XM. :yess:

**** comic books, who reads that crap anymore just watch a 300 million budget superhero movie!

Come on man, some are still good. Big 2 stuff are bad for the most part, but the indies are really great and unique. I'd give them a shot, it's like discovering an underground movie that you really dig.

Didn't the current regime have Cap go to an alternate dimension a few years ago and father a kid? Whatever happened to the son? Is he some new hero now or was he erased by another reboot?

Rebirth looks like a masterful stroke at bringing legacy back to DC, and Dr was a genius addition, I would hope the new 52 doesn't die but it most likely will.

This thing about cap looks like the thing they do every once in a while to create controversy and boost sales and eventually goes nowhere, like the lengthy list of brain farts of early Marvel Now we used to talk about, which sadly some of it has gone for too long now.

Point me in the right direction and I'll think about it. :lol

I liked it. A lot. But still. There's a chance it could all suck. Who knows?

Eh, of course it is. Same with Gordon-Batman, Powerless-Superman, Leatherface-Joker, FalconCap and all that. They're all gimmicks. Some turn out good, some are bad. Me, I'm just gonna enjoy the ride of Evil Cap and hope that the new JSA book is good.

Yeah, that was Dimension Z. Ian appeared in Remender's 6 issue FalCap run and then had a starring role in a Secret Wars mini. There, he took the Infinity Elevator, pressed the 616 button and... that was the last we saw of him.

Nay.

FalconCap
Yes.

This may be the worst idea I've ever seen from Marvel...House of Ideas my ass
Then you've seen very little from Marvel.

This sounds dumb at face value but it isn't even that bad, could end up being a good story, all the asinine pandering they did in early Marvel NOW was far worse.

How come? All of these were instances were the main character underwent a major transformation and changed the course of the title. Cap aged and Sam picked up the shield. Bruce became an amnesiac and Gordon became the new Batman. I don't see how one is "bad" and the other is "good". For the record, I enjoyed Gordon-Bat a lot and didn't care for FalCap, but come on, there's an obvious resemblance.

Nah, NOW! was damn good. We had X-Men, Wolverine, Superior Spider-Man, Thor: GoT. Even All-New NOW! was good, with Moon Knight and Ghost Rider. It's ANAD that went overboard and changed/replaced everyone.

There's also clear differences, Batgordon, Superbro, Joker were done for the story, maybe Batgordon seized the publicity a little with "who's the new Batman" but that's it, FalCap, Whor, and I don't remember what else of that wave they did, but I'm sure it was plenty cause I was mad every weekend one of those stupid announcements came out :lol were done for the pandering and the spotlight, NOT for the stories.

The first 2 or 3 arcs of NOW were great, but then it went right to ****, and thus, spawning ANAD.
