I think Batman v Superman has some of the best CGI we've ever had to date. Doomsday for the most part looked excellent.

Spidey on the other hand, looked good, was quite jarring. Maybe its hard to capture he texture of his suit... I really couldn't tell what that material was supposed to be. I get why though, they hadn't finalised the design until late in the game. Although Black Panther (bar the case scene) looked great and his design was constantly being tweaked too.

Im curois how the live action SSidey suit will look

Sorry, but that Batmobile chase had bad video game effects :lol

Look as much as i'm a huge fan of CW and loved Spiderman, Peter Parker, his mini arc, and his costume design no doubt about it he was the most cgi looking of all the Spidermans.

His fabric didn't move at all.

You don't even have to go back far just look at ASM2 with his costume flapping in the wind.

Even if that was cgi it was damn good cgi.

But whatever he still kicked ass in CW and ASM2 is bye bye.

I don't wanna put down my main man spidey but jye has a point. He looked very cg in this movie . It was obvious. But then again who cares! He kicked ass!

Spiderman looked straight out of that 3D universal studios ride :lol

This year definitely seemed like a step back in CGI for every superhero movie. Apocalypse has some truly awful CGI in it, BvS probably was the best of the year in this department.

they are cheaping out on these CGI orgy-fests. Cutting costs and getting lower quality companies to do certain parts. There are just so many shots that can be done nicely- the rest suffer.

I watched this once and never even thought about Spidey being CGI.

Same for my first viewing. I assumed his eyes were CG due to the squinting but didn't give it any more thought after that. Then after reading here that he was fully CG at the airport I tried to pay attention more the second time but just got sucked into the action all over again and didn't notice.

Like I said earlier, it wasn't until that last scene where he was knocked down and his mask was half off that I could tell that everything before that was CGI, because in that moment he really looked different to me. Doesn't bother me though. I have more of a problem with scarjo's stunt double in the beginning of the movie.

Zombie made a good point I couldn't get a really good look at his costume texture, it was rather dark and his whole body had that cgi tightness to it, his costume didn't seem to be moving over his body it was as if his body and costume were one item.

But again, what...ever...he looked good enough and what matters most is that he was awesome.

Now that I had no problem with, I thought BW fights in this were very intense, great stuff!

It just bugs we when I can tell its a stunt person and not the actor in the middle of an action scene. Nigeria was the only time in CW it was obvious to me. Just like in the beginning of Avengers during her interrogation fight, or The Matrix with NEO in the subway getting slammed into the wall. I still enjoy those scenes but my brain checks out for a second or two.

Eh, CGI doesn't affect my viewing experience that much. I will agree that Spidey looked like a PS4 character, but eh, it didn't bother me.

On other news, HYDRA-Cap has become a meme!

Well, the last one ain't so far removed from the actual Hopeman...

Somewhat related, but still, it's HYDRA week, so... Anyway, you know things have turned upside down when Red Skul actually starts making sense...

I mean, sure, he's still a racist, but if you live near the 'Red Zone' of the whole crisis, he ain't so far from the truth... Man, HYDRA-Cap and Somewhat-Sensible-Red-Skul... Times sure have changed...

It's just that, the internet went nuts about HYDRA-Cap, whereas this page got no attention whatsoever. Which is strange, considering the current fan-base. Strange times indeed...

EDIT: Black Panther Concept Art:

I want a Hot Toys of that Dana made Hydra Cap asap!! I'd only.

I'm happier with the final result for Panther's design.

I like the whole "tribal markings" thing they had going on, but the all-black and shiny suit from the concept art looks a bit more "futuristic". What I want from the solo are his "force push" powers, energy knives, kimoyo and his "symbiote"-like mask.

The reason that page got no attention in the press is because this is nothing new in the post-2001 era of Marvel Comics. Marvel has taken the position that if you don't kneel at the altar of political correctness at the expense of safety, decency, and common sense then you're with the Red Skull. Marvel doesn't tell good stories about costumed heroes fighting costumed bad guys anymore, it used the tragedy of 9/11 to go full tilt social justice warrior and has never looked back, nor does it appear that it will anytime soon which is why I have turned my back on everything that company has released from 2002 onward.

As far as I'm concerned there's Marvel Comics from 1968-2001 and the MCU. Nothing more. Thankfully the films have gotten back to "stick up for the little guy" instead of "stick up for the Democratic Party."

It is sad to have the heroes be complete morons, whereas the villains actually make sense. I mean, look at this brilliant panel:

I mean, what the ****? Honestly... Me, I'm staying away from the big titles. The smaller ones, the Moon Knights, the Ultimates and the like are free from such crap and actually care about writting good stories, in contrast with the A-Titles, which are interested in "dem interwebz" hype. You know things are bad when the bad-guy you're using as a mouthpiece for "de evilz talkz" actually makes more sense than most of your heroes...

Agreed on all of those.

His projectile daggers are a must.

There are still some good stuff Post-2001, but after 2013 or so, the slope got a whole lot more slippery. Anything by Ennis is great. The early Ultimate stuff were great as well. Anything written by Ellis is also gold. But yeah, around that time is when things started getting a bit too political...
