Been hearing Winnick's name a lot and while she looks the part, is she even a good actor? Never seen Vikings.

Acting must go hand in hand with good directing. George Lucas made some very good actors look really bad.

If you're talking about the prequels, horrible scripts and horrible, out of touch direction would, no doubt, place some constraints on one's ability to act well! Though I think Neeson and McGregor made the best out of a bad situation. You never see best actor nods at the Academy Awards being given to people who act in ****** movies.

I doubt anyone recommending her is particularly concerned with her acting skills.

Wha? I think she's a good actress. She's great in Vikings, 13 Graves, and even the little part she had in Love & Other Drugs. And she's proven she can be an awesome female character in Vikings. Not to mention she can definitely handle all the physicality. Haha plus she's a black belt so that's awesome.

C'mon man, she might be OK as an actress, but that's far from the primary reason people want her to be in this role.

It's not like you want Feige scouring off-broadway plays to find the person with the best acting talent.

Yea and they casted gal gadot because of her amazing acting in fast and furious 4 &5 ....yeah

Winnick is just the perfect choice if you are casting a female superhero. Shes trained and and in peak physical shape. She does her own stunts and can handle her own with men . Eventually DC or Marvel will come calling

I trust Marvel will select the appropriate talent for Danvers. It's not just looks they're gonna be worried about, it's also talent level and audience appeal. A home run for them would be finding the next Jennifer Lawrence, someone who can carry her weight on the screen and can be idolized by a lot of women aged tween and above (clearly not the demographic of this forum). Gotta remember they're building a brand from almost scratch here, can't cast a nobody like Hemsworth for Thor, it's not the same situation. So far I haven't been sold on any of the names in the rumormill.

And I personally think Gadot as WW was a mistake. She'll be fine in the JL films but this is gonna bite WB in the ass in the first solo film, you guys will see.

Jennifer Lawrence was a meh choice for Mystic, you've got a very bad example there.
Not as terrible as Gadot for WW, of course. :lol

I'll be happy with either Emily Blunt or Kathryn Winnick.

Winnick is pretty damn good in VIKINGS. Plus, Marvel has had a good habit of picking some stars out of obscurity and making them into superstars. Downey Jr. was struggling with a comeback and Iron Man made him an A-lister again. No one heard of Hemsworth before Thor. Scarlett Johanssen had some creds, but she showed she can be a bad a** thanks to her Black Widow role. I'd argue similar success for people like Hiddleston, Clark Gregg, etc. It at least made the public "more aware" of who these actors and actresses are.

Right now it's a time when being a superhero or a superheroine in Hollywood is "the thing".

Winnick could do really well as Danvers. She's also more likely to sign for multiple films than Blunt.

Talking about Hunger Games, not X-Men. Guess I should've stated that.

Yes she is, in fact her character has the same personality as Carol.

I doubt anyone recommending her is particularly concerned with her acting skills.
Nope, see above.

Nope, I think Emily Blunt is far hotter, but Winnick has both the right personality and looks, and has proven she can act.

Damn, I like that, doubt anything on screen will look half as cool.
