It's completely possible it was supposed to be there even though it was blurred but as Thor fell into place they just shrugged it off, similar to the deleted scene of the Hulk uncovering Captain America which was thrown out.

Saw the film today (finally). I did like it a lot, but the whole thing kind of felt like the prelude to something rather than a film in it's own right. I've never really respected Evans as an actor, but he made this his own and conveyed just the right attitude of humility and heroism. This approach to Cap, only a weak man knows the value of strength, is a good take and really fits the origin well. The CG of Evans face on the skinny Steve was fantastic too - I was looking for mistakes and didn't see a single instance.

Haven't read the whole thread - but did everyone see the Human Torch (Vision precursor) in the Stark Expo? Hmm?

I was really disappointed I saw it in 3D though - the registration was off and it was much too dark. From now on I'm not going to any retro3D'd pics in 3D.

I saw the Human Torch at the Expo as well, none of my friends saw that :lol Good thing you said that about the 3D because I wanted to see it again and was debating whether or not to see it in 2D or 3D; guess it will be 2D

I read online that Cap was a waste in 3D from various sites. I'm glad I passed. Here is Toro:

Or they just did it to screw with the fans. I know if I were a director or producer I would totally toss out a tiny red herring, start an internet rumor and watch the fun. Is that bad of me?

Too bad. I loved the converted 3D of Cap (especially for scenes like the Expo, Cap's first meeting with the Red Skull on the catwalk, the motorcycle flying out of the explosion, various shots of the shield coming out of the screen, etc.)

The brightness was fine in my (high end) theater. I've been reading more and more that a lot of projectionists aren't doing their jobs and properly increasing the brightness for 3D showings, or theaters outright refusing to do so to save on bulbs. Maybe your's just wasn't being displayed properly.

Whether a film was converted vs. native 3D should have no bearing on the brightness of the picture.

Just got back from seeing it a second time and it kicks ass even more so the second time. Just a really awesome film from start to finish. Evans nailed this to me and I'm glad with as much ____ as he caught from some folks.

LOVED this movie. I thought chris evans did a fantastic job. He was really what carried the whole movie for me, as I wasn't really big on red skull or hydra. They felt a little hokey. But damn, I'm happy to say that Cap is my favorite avenger movie so far.

After the first 20 minutes, I was like "This movie is awesome, sucks to be those people who were saying it was gonna be ____"

:nana:

I'm just glad the movie kicked as much ass as I had thought it would. I was so pleased I ended my comic-con 2011 with Cap.

Best bits were shown in the trailers. Not enough action and I couldn't take Red Skull seriously when some kid in front said he looked like Michael Jackson. I thought the best part of the film was Tommy Lee Jones and the part where Peggy walks in wearing the red dress.
She was hot.

Loved it. Not a perfect movie, but all of the awesomeness made up for it. Between this and The Rocketeer, Johnston knows how to make a great 1940's movie. Also, between this and The Rocketeer, Johnston knows that nothing goes better in a 40's period piece than a hot, busty brunette.

Honestly, I preferred Red Skull when he had his mask on. Weaving oozed Schmidt's lust for power. I didn't think the Skull face was bad, but definitely not as menacing as you'd expect from the comics. I did think the seams running the Schmidt mask was an excellent touch.

I really don't know what to think of a sequel with all of the supporting characters dead and no chance that he'll ever go dancing with Peggy. Kind of a bummer.

If the red skull ever makes an appearance in any future avenger or captain america films, I bet they make his face much more grotesque. I thought it was a decent job and I really loved the movie overall!
