This movie blew my expectations away. I thought it was going to be awful but it ended up being fairly enjoyable. Not any sort of incredible masterpiece, but entertaining. :D

I was worried about Evans. I remember him mostly being the goofy boyfriend from "Not Another Teen Movie" and his stint as Human Torch in the FF movies.

I got more worried after seeing Ryan Reynolds BOMB Green Lantern. Does he look like Hal Jordan? YES. But he didn't feel right in that part or in that movie. DC did what they could but Reynolds made it really below average. It's such a shame because the Green Lantern comic series has been red hot since the return of Jordan.

So naturally I was a little worried about Evan but he did a fantastic job. He was a bit "wooden" at times, but he fit the part extremely well. He was believable when he was skinny Steve and believable when he became Cap. I think this movie was even a test for himself and he did really well in a "serious" role when his character was supposed to carry the plot for the first part of the movie before it deviated to Cap, Red Skull and the whole conflict there.

Hugo Weaving did a good job too. I do wish the Red Skull face beneath was more "scarred" and broken up a la Two-Face from "The Dark Knight" as opposed to it looking like he just lost some facial features and then it smoothed out perfectly red. But whatever...the movie was great and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I really don't know what to think of a sequel with all of the supporting characters dead and no chance that he'll ever go dancing with Peggy. Kind of a bummer.

Pillars Of The Earth

and Amanda Righetti in Angel Blade

I've had a crush on Righetti since the first episode of The Mentalist - she's a welcome successor for Peggy's granddaughter.

I just hope she'll play a larger role in The Avengers.....for some reason, I'm thinking no, so I hope I'm wrong.

I'm thinking she'll play Cap's handler, his connection to the modern world as some kind of familiarity to his past even in memories and tales of what happened to his past buddies. I think she'll be around quite a bit and if Cap's sequel shoots them into the present I have a feeling she'll play prominent there too.

That would be awesome. Like how Sharon is his liaison in the Brubaker books...which I have NO problem with if they based the sequel on his books. They are AMAZING.
