Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

The Hydra is a sector of the third reich...that being said, I highly doubt we'll see any real Nazi's. They said so. "BUT HYDRA ARE NAZIIS!!!"

But they're not real Nazi's. :lol

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

He looks awesome. They did a really good job of combining the essence of the character with Hugo Weaving's features.

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

Love the skull, love Weaving, but the outfit is as usual, just stupid looking. All the pointless little tassels and leather harnesses and rivets, its foppish. It just would have looked alot more badass in a black trench coat and Black SS uniform, even if you don't put the SS symbols and Swastikas on his arms or w/e. Simple is better, the whole thing just still wreaks of GI Joe to me.

Seriously what the hell is that, a leather wrap around jergen tunic with 5 point racing leather shoulder harness straps?

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

Looks really good. Now let's start a pool on how long it will take before somebody charges in and posts the image again thinking they broke the news to the forum.

I got dibs on the next 5 minutes...

I lose... :monkey2

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

I love everything except the unnecessary ditching of his Nazi uniform for the more cartoony "Hydra" stuff. When you're worried about offending people because your VILLAINS are Nazis then you officially have no balls.

But then we all knew that was coming. It's Joe Johnston for crissakes. You basically have to threaten that goober at gunpoint to get him to make a movie with any teeth.

Yeah, this would have been much better.

He could use an iron cross around the neck, would help establish nazi ties better imo.

Say what you will but that old school skull was proud of his nazi heritage, hence the smile.
