Even Batman and Robin box office was greater than the Captain America movie.

Nothing can stop the Batman, not even bad movies. :lol

Batman & Robin made about 107 million/238 worldwide. Captain America made about 176 million/368 worldwide. Captain America wins that battle!

Inflation calculator says that $107 million in 1997 is almost $145 million in 2010 dollars, but still. . .Cap does win that one.

:dunno Batman's on his 2nd DX, capt's got none. at the end of the day, batman will still win no matter what angle..glorified.

In a head to head fight, Captain America all the way. Even with his gadgets, Captain America would out-fight Batman; Cap has super human strength, durability, healing, stamina, reflexes AND he is the perfect fighting machine trained to the peak of his super human. Even during the Infinity Gauntlet crisis, Cap was the last standing out of the invasion force and managed to deflect a blow from an Infinity infused Thanos.

That said, If Batman had time to plan out an attack and orchestrate the fight to an area of his choosing, Batman would most likely win. I think Batman could out-think Cap if given the chance.

The results of a fight between these two would purely be the results of the circumstances.

What's the atmosphere? What do they have at their disposal? What random occuranes might happen (like in DC vs Marvel, Batman won because he capitalized on the unexpected sewer drainage mainly hitting Cap, not because he outfought him). It all matters with these two.

It's not easy to say one could indefinitely beat the other based off of 1 or even a few fights. At this point which one of them hasn't faced gods, defeated tougher opponents, participated in intergalactic wars all across the universe, "cheated" in a fight, plotted against friends, returned from death, and had their ass kicked by someone who shouldn't have kicked it.

If these guys fought multiple times, there'd be, and has been, various outcomes.

And as a reader of both, a lot of these responses lead me to believe a lot of people haven't really read a lot of Cap or Avengers comics. Even something simple like Civil War will show you Cap is just as much a badass as Batman. And probably more willing to kill if need be, even now. Look up Baron Blood and al-Tariq.

But Bill Gates doesn't fight people professionally, while Batman does :D And his intelligence does apply to his fighting techniques. He would know which technique to use to attempt to account for Cap's obvious physical advantages.

I like preeny's distinction. If it's a straight up fight, neither guy has weapons, and they're in a locked room with no ability to use their environment to their advantage, then Cap would probably win in my book, as well. If nothing else, Batman's human endurance would give out well before Cap's did, and you could only pull a rope-a-dope with Cap for so long.

:exactly: I think there has to be caveats to how they are to fight because the outcomes would be different based on your description.

Batman would be better at thinking, sleuthing, detecting, gadgeting, driving, rappelling, computing, analyzing, investigating, sneaking, intimidating, disorienting and exploiting his surroundings.

With all of that set aside for a fair fight against somebody all hopped up super soldier serum, I'd vote for Captain America. Batman would punish him at first, but Batman would start to get worn out while Captain America would have the ability to persevere and basically outlast him, eventually winning the fight.

Tom! I expect better of you....look at my sig and try again.

You guys are forgetting Batman got all the cool vehicles. Bat can pick Capt up with his Bat Jet and drop Capt off the artic. If he survives before, no harm in dumping him there again. Sadly (Not), we won't be able to read him in the comics though. :D

Why was a cross fight thread made between Cap and Batman instead of marvels main ICON vs. dcs main ICON?

1st off: Spiderman is Stronger, Faster, AND smarter than Batman. He has a Spider-Sense, and currently knows Kung-Fu. He uses web-shooters, but still has organic webbing if he chooses to use it. He has multiple suits for different purposes just like Batman, including a stealth suit.

How does Batman win?

I'll tell you how

He can't :)
Why? He needs time to plan right? Sadly, Spiderman will do the same kind of planning as well. How can you get ahead of a genius when ur butlers not around to help you, and ur sidekicks are busy getting some ass? Well, except for Damian, whose too busy being a pain in Bruces ass :lol

I didn't read all of civil war, but didn't caps beat iron man with the aid of a gadget that shorted starks suit? That's what makes cap and bats amazing. They both regular dudes in the overall scheme of things, yet, they find ways to overcome their shortcomings when faced with an opponent that is either superhuman or technologically more advanced.

It's the willpower they both possess that helps them stand above the rest IMO. Yeah yeah, all heroes have willpower yadda yadda...but for caps and bats, they're human. While caps is juiced up, he's essentially human.

Gadgets or no, it all boils down to this, who has the will to win. it's a tough call, seeing as how both have stood up to gods (caps vs thanos, bats vs darkseid) knowing that they might or will die, they still stood up to them.

Or simply, who has the most hardcore fans will rule the outcome.

I am a diehard batman fan, never really read much of captain America. So my knowledge of him comes from a few tidbits from my brother and friend, and most recently the movie, which I really enjoyed. So just from reading a bit of the civil war arc, the stories, and the movie, I have a new found respect for caps. Two hardcore humans makes for an interesting fight, but if I had to pick a victor, I really can't. My fav character vs a character I really respect....tough call.

Sorry, that really didn't answer the question of the thread, but I just wanted to chime in with my thoughts.

My gut is to go with Batman (comic based at least, not when it comes to film versions)... being tenacious seems to be in his nature. He's kind of like Rocky; it won't be pretty but eventually he'll pull it through.
