Oh no, of course. I agree with that.
And that’s more less what I’m echoing, that people should be able to put politics aside. As mentioned, when people purchase products, it should be based on the quality and the cost of that product, and how it enriches their lives. The political views of the company should be irrelevant; just like the political views of the consumer should be irrelevant to the company. However, if the company insists on lecturing a large swath of people/consumers for their political views and castigating those people for having opinions that differ from the opinions that they feel they should be espousing (while often times doing the exact opposite themselves of what they’re trying to lecture everyone else on), I don’t blame those people for not calling for anyone else to boycott, but simply quietly deciding to take a hard pass on that company lecturing them and spending their money and time on something/someone else who doesn’t/won’t care about their political views.
I hear you, and I totally respect that. I'll admit, as a white male myself, hearing someone give the impression that I'm not welcome to form an opinion on their is a pretty big turn off and I understand why someone would boycott or whatever.
I just adhere more to the "rise above it" philosophy personally. Someones stupid statements arent going to take any enjoyment out of my life!
