I just read a right winger accusing Disney of placing mannequins in the theatres to make it look like its playing to a packed house. Amazing. So basically Disney spent hundreds of millions buying up tickets and even placing thousands of mannequins in theatres! They are really going all out!

And once again...the sad thing is that whoever said that probably really believes it...I really wish they were just trolling to get a reaction out of the "libs" but nope...they are really just that disturbed...truth be told I think there are mostly good people on this forum but a few of the rants even here read like John Doe's notebooks from Seven. Taking away our dear, beloved heroes, blah, blah, blah...it sadly must really come from having nothing else to cling to in life but some imaginary characters.

Meh.. Both sides are filled with morons that are full of crap. At NYU some students confronted and blamed a pregnant Chelsea Clinton for the shooting in New Zealand.. Wish they were just trolling also..

Lets get this back to talking Captain America.

Though I can kind of understand why nobody wants to :lol ;) ;)

There are Disturbed individuals on both sides, ignorant people who are unable to think for themselves and who blindly follow and agree with whatever policies their party of choice dictates. One cannot see the truth when they blindly follow others, people need to turn their brains on, politics encompasses far too many facets of life. You can be a republican when it comes to the market economy and taxation and a liberal when it comes to social freedoms (eg pro choice), humanitarian efforts or and or preserving the natural environment. Sadly too many people just say well I’m a democrat or republican so I must agree with all the policies or idealogies of my party, which is not only a major disservice to themselves, but why people usually just get angry when talking politics. They don’t understand really what they are talking about all they know is that they say they are a republican or democrat so they must act and agree with all republican or democratic agendas. There is no discussion, just no your wrong it’s my way or high way. It’s also why there are so many problems in Washington, this type of partisanship does not foster growth, communication or common ground. It leads to stagnation where nothing gets done.

I agree with this post. The funny thing is that I think that there is a level of craziness / stupidity that transcends political partisanship...and that is actually where I think a lot of this stuff is coming from...

Ya it’s the same **** that leads to crazy religious cults. People stop thinking for themselves and blindly follow everything one tells them too. All their beliefs are spoon fed, makes discussion difficult

I watch movies to be entertained and really don't pay attention to their politics or agendas. Tom Cruise is crazy but I find most of his movies to be entertaining. Whatever the current climate in the world I like to escape the stupidity. I miss when a movie was an escape from reality not a platform for hate or some type of agenda. I do want to see this movie but may wait until after it hits home release. I did the same with Ant-Man and I would be ok with this one too.

A deeper look int CM's box office numbers:

I like his point on how Disney buying empty seats makes very little sense.

That big of drop-off was unexpected, definitely something to keep an eye on.

???? Am surprised this was thought it would go to a billion anyway. That's not a shot at the movie. Trying to think like a normie:cool:...who doesn't usually watch YT etc. - if I didn't know better from commercials it looks like another super-hero movie, except it's a girl/woman, kind of like Superman.

IMO there's not much special about a female superhero at this point or having glowing eyeballs:monkey3. To me the box office makes sense - big weekend esp. w. EG connection, all the geeks turn out; second weekend geeks who can't stand the crowd and families who "heard it was good" or "it's child safe".

LOL posted about my 3rd theater view of Ragnarok when an entire family of Indian? people took over most of the front. Grandmas in their saris and head scarves to little kids. It was pretty clear only the 10/12 year olds had a clue what was going on; u could hear them whispering explanations. Then grandma or auntie every half hour or so would shuffle across the bottom of the screen, to the restroom, then shuffle back, so every now and then it looked like a couple of jawas were going back and forth.
It was never one at a time; always 2-3.

Anyway IMO it's stuff like that that boost numbers - but for me it's gonna be best to see comic book movies with other fans, crowd or no crowd. Finally got my mom to see TFA and she's still mad because of the way it ends *sigh*.:banghead

CM had a second weekend BO drop-off of 72.4% in the all-important Chinese market.

https://www.screendaily.com/news/ta...-top-of-the-china-box-office-/5137756.article

Since the foreign market accounts for 65.3% of CM’s total BO, and China is the largest segment of that market. It looks like the climb to 1B just got harder. We shall see.

Seems still relatively on track. Forbes was projecting a $132M 10-day China run would still track the film towards 1bn.

Don’t all MCU movies drop that much 2nd weekend in China?

IW had a 72% drop.

BP 82.5% drop.

Spiderman Homecoming 78.4% drop.

I mean I can keep going if you like lol
