For real? I've been doing the "checkout without creating an account" all along :monkey2

Im assuming its because I have an account they ship USPS and not evil DHL but maybe its just because I got 2 figures? Either way, create an account because Whona is the best out there and sometimes if you want to army build they can give you a little help or I've heard if you request it they can ship it loose.

2 more figs out soon are a series 3 Captain Jack and a series 1 Dalek with Genetic Print ie Rose's hand print. Hopefully Jack will have a better likeness than his previous figure which had the worst human sculpt in the line so far. I'm not sure if I'll get the Dalek as I've already got several but if the weathering looks suitably different I could end up getting it.

Series Three Captain Jack sounds interesting, particularly if Character plan to improve on the sculpt may well get that one.

I'm not really too fussed about another Dalek, they're over produced and peg warm like crazy in the UK, but I'll get it eventually.

No word on new 12 inch figures, rumblings are that what's out is it for that line. Over at Outpost Gallifrey they have pictures of the Master Regeneration gift set, same Doctor and Martha figures, Jacobi Master and Simm in Jacobi's outfit. Also apparently there were clearance issues with Eccleston's Doc in the neutral pose which is why he wasn't in the line up for end of the year figures. And now the big news:

:chew:chew:chew Guess who won a loose Cassandra and Chip on eBay! Ohhh yea. Now I just gotta pay for the sucker, which will kill me, but I finally got it. Since I open EVERYTHING anyway it's all good.

Nice one Memnoch! I just got a loose Cassandra & Spiders on a Buy It Now for £11.99 and am still trying to find a Sycorax Leader for a sensible price. The Sanctuary Base set is now out at TRU for £29.99 and will be one of my next major purchases.

I managed to get a Sycorax Leader from the TRU UK website for £11.54 shipped which arrived this morning and it's excellent. I usually open my figures but I'll be keeping this one MOC for the time being in case it becomes as rare as the original release. I also got the Woolworths Exclusive Army Of Ghosts set which is decent considering it contains mostly rehashed figures, the Genesis Ark in particular is really well done and Mickey's Void Transporter Device adds a bit of extra detail to what is a fairly plain looking figure.
Here's a link to a boxed pic of the Utopia with Professor Yana gift set,

Not the closest of shots but the John Simm sculpt does appear to be better than the first pic of the suit wearing Master suggested which is good to see. I think this really should have been a 2-pack as the Doctor & Martha rehashes aren't really needed. Failing that Character Options could have waited until they had the series 3 Captain Jack ready to go and put him in the set instead of Martha.

It looks like the initial disappointment over the Derek Jacobi & John Simm likenesses was a false alarm as they look fantastic in this pic.

The Masters do look good. There's a sign of a successful toy line - characters in the exact same costume, yet they create completely new sculpts for the bodies. That's almost unheard of, look at any Star Trek line...

Very true. Character Options have done a number of things like this where they could have got away with rehashing body parts or cheaping out in some other way but they have instead gone that extra mile and as a result they have one of the best action figure lines going at present. With next year seeing the first wave of Classic figures along with series 4 of Nu-Who plus the possibility of more figures from The Sarah Jane Adventures & maybe even Torchwood things should hopefully continue in the same fashion. If I have a concern it's that the number of rehashes has been getting a bit ridiculous of late but when there's been so many original molds I suppose it's inevitable that Character Options will try and get as much use out of them as possible. Here's a couple of links to the next couple of series 1 figures,

Dalek with Genetic Print (Rose's handprint changes color when you rub it)

Of the already announced items only the following have yet to be shown,
The Editor
Regeneration 2-pack (new version)
series 3 Captain Jack
Classic Wave 1 (I'm thinking these will be saved for the next big Toy Fair at the beginning of 2008)

I thought that Neutral 9 had been pushed back, along with Jack due to clearance issues. I've also heard that The Editor isn't being done anytime soon. Haven't heard of the new Regeneration 2-Pack, enlighten? Only one I can't dispute is the Dalek because of the packing shot.. but I really thought it would be more busted up or something. Something more than just a handprint.

On another note I got my Cassandra and Chip today. I think I now have the rarest figure(s) other than the Sycorax Leader and I just need him loose so not that bad to find. I really wish I could walk into TRU or WalMart in the States and get these figures. I like picking these up more than Star Wars stuff and that's what sucked me into action figures all those years ago.

I get all my info from doctorwhotoys.net who have been pretty accurate for the most part so I've not heard anything else about series 3 Jack, the 9th Doctor & The Editor. The alternate version of the Regeneration pack is supposed to have a 9th Doctor that's "mid regeneration" which presumably means it will have some clear plastic "flames" emanating from his head & hands ???
It is cool for us Brits to be able to walk into local stores and get all the Who stuff before anywhere else, though it's a bit crap at the moment as aside from the Gelth Zombie I'm caught up with everything I want and am waiting for the next wave to come out. I've just started a job working in a warehouse of a big catalogue store (Argos) and as I'm helping put away incoming deliveries it means that providing they get delivered on my shift I'll get first crack at the new stuff when it comes in so if you want any of the next wave & the Utopia set let me know.

Definatly want that Utopia set. What else is in the next wave? And yea, after checking, the picture of the 9th Doctor is the proto they were originally going to do when the line first started. So no new Doctor anytime soon. The Handprint Dalek is legit. Still no word on a new Jack and far as I could find the Editor is still a no go. All this comes from the threads at Outpost Gallifrey where there are some very knowledgeable folks and even a few reps from CO.

Intresting info Memnoch,I'll have to check out Outpost Gallifrey. A pity the other 9th Doctor fig isn't coming out for the forseeable future as it looks great but the other one is perfectly adequate. The Utopia set will be £19.99 and the next wave of single figures will consist of,

Professor Yana (same as in the Utopia set)
The Master (suit)
Weeping Angel
Laszlo
Doctor in SS Pentalion Spacesuit
Auton in grey suit

The Utopia set is showing up in the stock computer as being late October so I'm checking every day whether it's arrived and I should think the other figures will probably arrive around the same time.

Looks like the other 9th Doctor figure is coming out sooner than expected after all. Here's the first carded pic courtesy of doctorwhotoys.net,

Hopefully the as yet unreleased neutral posed Rose from series 1 will also get the green light at some stage (a proto exists) as it would be a shame if the only series 1 Rose was the POS that has already been released. 2 more figures have been added to the next wave and they are,

Screaming Angel
https://www.doctorwhotoys.net/screamingangel.jpg

Scarecrow (beige)
https://www.doctorwhotoys.net/scarecrowbeige.jpg

The Screaming Angel makes sense as it'll accompany the Weeping Angel perfectly but the beige Scarecrow IMO falls into the "not really needed" category.
As awesome as they are doing with Doctor Who I think Character Options are in danger of shooting themselves in the foot with the amount of rehashes they are doing. I can understand the thinking behind them as they will want to get the most out of the molds but a look at the pegs of most stores that stock Doctor Who figs in the UK will provide plenty of proof that certain single figures don't move very quickly, especially when they also get released in a multipack not long after. Having pegs full of figures that are slow to sell only sends out negative vibes to retailers which would obviously not be good for the line in the long term so I think they should try and spread the rehashes out a bit more, maybe even drop them altogether for the next 2 or 3 waves.

Well apparently he's out now. Glad to see I was wrong and CO was holding back on info! Soo bcm, wanna add him to the list of things to grab when you have the chance? :lol I think at this point it would be easier for me to tell you what figures I do have so you could grab a few I don't, then send them all over loose.

Just let me know exactly what you want and I'll see what I can do. The new stuff hasn't yet arrived at work but is imminent so when it's arrived I'll go through and sort out 1 of each for myself and whatever figs you want.
You can Paypal me the cash once I've worked out the shipping (sending the figs loose should save quite a bit as there'll be less packaging). Given that there's approx 20 Scarecrows and at least 30 Assault Daleks sat in the warehouse I'm not expecting the Genetic Print Dalek, beige Scarecrow and also the SS Pentalion version of the Spacesuit Doctor to disappear in a hurry and I think it's safe to say that the Master figs and the Weeping/Screaming Angels will be the hot sellers from the next wave.

There was a very small delivery of figures at work today and as I was the one who had to put them on the shelves I was perfectly placed to get the only Weeping Angel figure before any customers got a look in,

Another great figure which should look awesome displayed with the Screaming Angel.

WhoNA.com has the Master's Laser Screwdriver in stock now. My kid's been waiting for this for a long time.

My wife also managed to pick up a Weeping Angel figure for me last night and again it was the only one on the pegs.

Also Laszlo (the nice pig man from Daleks in Manhatten) has been released so I managed to get one of those as well.

Loving this line at the moment but with all the recent rehashes and repaints Character Options are bringing out, I'm being far more selective what I pick up, these days I'm only going to buy brand new figures unless the variant is a necessary one like the Screaming Angel as well as the Weeping Angel for example.
