And my jealousy of the UK continues... :monkey2:monkey2:monkey2

Ugh, my gf is going to Italy this summer.. wish I could make her stop over in the UK, run to TRU or Woolies and then jump back on a plane. Its not fair you guys in the UK get that and we have to order online.

Yeah most TRU's in the UK have that display running at the moment, it plays the Doctor Who music and there are loads of different voice clips from series three, like the Master and Dalek Sec.

Don't feel bad though guys, we're way behind with the Hasbro Star Wars line and don't even get alot of the Mattel DC stuff. So there are advantages and disadvantages with toy collecting wherever you live.

I hope you guys manage to find all the figures you're looking for.

While I can empathise with US collectors about the availability of Doctor Who stuff,I do feel it's a refreshing change for the UK to have a figure line that is widely available at retail instead of the usual overpriced import store or ebay route that we have to go for many other lines such as Star Wars.
After snagging the solitary Weeping Angel that came in at work the other day I'm now itching for the rest of the new stuff to arrive so I can pick out what I want before the customers get a chance. Memnoch I've so far got you down for a Utopia set and a Weeping Angel. Is this OK?

Actually if you can grab me one each of the new wave it'd be fantastic. I can wait to get 3 more Weeping and 3 more Screaming Angels.

OK,I'll grab the rarest ones first and let you know as soon as I have each figure. My job is initially only part time until Christmas so I'm making the most of the chance to get first crack at any new figures that arrive.

The Weeping Angels seem to be the hardest to come by (as BCM and I expected them to be looking at the newest stuff).

TRU had about half a dozen Laszlo's in last night, but no more Weeping Angels had come into stock:D

So I just managed to snag the new 9th Doctor and the Genetic Print Dalek from Whona.com :woo They have about 9 left of the Doctor. He will probably be gone this afternoon. No Angels, Master or Laszlo though.

Very nice find Menmoch

I've yet to find either of those figures at retail in the UK yet though I'm sure they will show up pretty soon.

I will keep an eye out for you with the Weeping Angels but I haven't seen any, other than the one my wife got me, at retail, there aren't even many at Ebay, if I find one I will PM you and let you know. Laszlo will probably hang around a while and I don't think the suit version of the Master has been released.

If you want me to grab you one let me know and I can do it before I head to class. Maybe grab a second for bcm.

I don't have the new 9th Doctor yet but I'd appreciate it if you could get me one Memnoch as I've been so busy with work that I don't always have time to go figure hunting at my local TRU's. The arrival of new figures at work has also been minimal and there's always the chance that new ones could come & go on the days when I'm not there so as the 9th Doctor is currently top of my list I want to secure one ASAP. I forgot to mention in my last PM that I also have a Sycorax Leader to go with the Utopia set and Weeping Angel I already got you.

The following have been confirmed for a future release by doctorwhotoys.net,

The Editor
9th Doctor in green top
series 3 Captain Jack
2 more Dalek rehashes (1 Dirty and 1 that's just described as "series 3")

Great news about The Editor & Captain Jack but the Daleks are IMO a total waste of time and the 9th Doctor is kind of puzzling as I thought he only wore a black or burgundy top underneath his jacket.

I don't think the constant Dalek rehashes are aimed at collectors (well maybe the army builders) they're more a kids thing. You can guarantee whenever I've been in Toys R Us in the UK the first figures the kid's grab from the display are Daleks. So I can see the sense in making them for the kid's market but personally I'm a little sick of them as a collector as well.

The Editor should be worth picking up, hopefully Simon Pegg's likeness will be captured well by Character. I bought the Utopia Set at the weekend and the Professor Yana figure was a pretty decent paint job so it looks like Derek Jacobi. The John Simm figures however are terrible, apparently he now has no cheekbones.

I think the cheekbones are there in the John Simm sculpt but the paintjob doesn't bring the detail out, leaving the likeness looking a little off.
The return of Rose in series 4 will likely mean at least 1 new figure from Character Options but I'd also like to see the neutral posed series 1 Rose that exists in proto form get released as well.

Found the Grey Auton figure in Asda last night, didn't end up buying it though. Was hoping when I saw it there might be a Ninth Doctor or a single carded Toby but still nothing.

Thanks for the heads up on the grey Auton,I'll keep an eye out for it at work and in local stores. I think Toby is one of those that will either show up all of a sudden in great quantities or barely at all and then get rereleased in a future wave like with the Sycorax Leader & Moxx Of Balhoon.

Despite Forbidden Planet saying it wouldn't be released until January there's a single carded Master in suit version on the bay too.

I think a few of these figures will turn up in stores if you're lucky and then there'll be a big glut of them in January.

I managed to pick up a Ninth Doctor figure last night and a single carded Toby ( a figure I've been looking for for a very long time).

It was quite ironic actually because last night BBC3 aired The Impossible Planet and The Satan Pit as well:D

Well after hearing the rumors I finally got my Toys R Us and lo and behold... DOCTOR WHO was on the pegs!! It was just Martha, 10 in Blue Suit/Glasses/Screwdriver, the two Judoon figures and the Regeneration Packs (older ones, 10 didn't have the upper arm articulation) and Sonic Screwdrivers but they are there. I really want to write or call the local manager or something and tell them how happy I am they are doing this. Now go out and buy, buy, buy! Tell TRU we here in the States love our Who too!
