been away for a couple of days.... but holy wow! i didn't think we'd be getting anything this neat, but seriously - this blows my expectations out of the water. will look even better when it's colored up. liking the armour colour too - looks perfect.

Gosh guys, it's just a little bit of Super Sculpey Firm and Castilene wax! I used to turn this kind of stuff over to one of my, um..... "less experienced" sculptors so I could concentrate on the harder stuff. :D

But I'm very gratified it's getting such a good response. Wait until you see the chest plate. :naughty

Actually, my new Max Wax battery operated wax pen makes this a lot easier. I can put a small controlled amount of molten wax right where I want it.

:D Project Round up and Final Pricing! :D

Howdy! As you'll no doubt notice if you've been following this project for any time, it has evolved beyond it's original scope. So, I thought it high time to establish just what we've got cooked up.All the elements are available ala carte so you can buy as little or as much as you want, but I'm going to offer all the elements that I will be providing as a combo pack at a special price. I want to keep everything as affordable as possible while providing options not available anywhere else at any price! When you combine what I'm offering along with Lord Vicious' exclusive shoulder piece and Seb's amazing leathers it should be enough to please the most discriminating Gladiator fan!

My offerings, Ala Carte:

1) Armor set (includes chest plate, back piece, gauntlets, greaves, standard shoulder pieces): $100.00
2) Battle cry Head : with armor $10.00, alone $35.00
3) Gauntlet set (2) alone: $25.00, painted $30.00
4) Greaves set (2) alone: $25.00, painted $30.00
5) Gladius sword: $15.00, painted $20.00

7) Helmet: $25.00, painted $30.00
8) Decorative elements for elvis1976 leather kilt: $15.00, painted $20.00
9) Large right shoulder strap: $10.00 (goes with Lord Vicious' left Shoulder Piece when used with my armor)
10) neck drill option: $5.00

Shipping for any individual order is $5.00 USA. $7.00 international. You can mix and match a few items for the same single shipping cost.

Complete set of all of the above including painting (except head)..... $175.00! If bought separately the total would be $250.00 so that's a savings of $75.00 if you buy the complete set.

Shipping for the whole set is $7.00 USA. $9.00 international. You can add a few items to this for the same single shipping cost.

From Michael Chong: (I will accept the payments for this)

1) Tunic: $25.00

From elvis1976

1) Leather Kilt: $25.00 + shipping

From Lord Viscious (pay him directly, I will ship to you, Details Here)

1) Special shoulder piece: $20.00 + Shipping, $5.00 US, $7.00 international (ships from me, so I will combine shipping if you are ordering other stuff.

I am making the deco elements for elvis1976's kilt. We can do this 2 ways. I can send the elements to him so he can apply them, or you can DIY with some glue.

is a shield being done?

Not in this round..... I had to cut it off somewhere before I ended up sculpting everything in the movie! :D But I think this is just a start. I'll be adding to this line as time goes on. But I've got to get the first round done first....

A Shield will be relatively easy compared to the rest of the stuff. Start thinking about the next Maximus version. General Maximus has been suggested.

Hell yeah! :monkey5
Oh, and a Tigris of Gaul would definitely kick ass too :horror

The other Maximus versions (Carthage battle, Tigris battle) should be relatively easy to do since most of the parts are already made. There would only need to be less emblems on his chest armor, he uses the shoulder armor I already commissioned and the big strap on his other shoulder Chris already made. Then it's just the helmet for Carthage, the shield for Tigris and different skirt straps which maybe Chris and Seb can do...

As for the general:

The chest plate and shoulder armor that has already been made by Chris could be re-used; it would just need different emblems. The main differences are the gauntlets, greaves and skirt straps (and the helmet). The rest of the outfit is red-brown pants and tunic, red cape and wolf fur.

But I'm getting ahead of myself; better concentrate on this first round of Max stuff :monkey5

General Maximus armour suit has a lot more accessories or decorative bits if you like, even the shoulder armour has dangling 'leather' bits...so we best leave the the general until we finish our version 1

hey chris, would you be able to send the decorative elements to seb for me - he's kindly agreed to attach them to his kilt. if i tried to do it myself, i would end up sticking my fingers to the figure, the decorative bits over my eyeballs, and there's not enough room in my display cabinet for me to permanently be sitting next to this figure.

Yer eyeballs, eh? I think I'll send a shipment of deco bits to Seb so he has them on hand for folks who want him to do it. So I think your peepers are safe for now. :D
