yes but you need those rubber arms like the one on lord vicious! But if you find some i will be happy to do that for you!

Yeah I was just thinking about those rubber arms, Shawn makes them for $15 a pair so I was thinking of buying a pair of arm and leg sleeves and sending them to Chris or Kuato (whoever is painting) together with a TrueType, is that an option Chris?

So we can get them all in the same colour.

one more time for good luck

i just paid shawn for 2 sets of rubber sleeves, one for seb's outfit and one for chris'. he says he can ship them out next week, so once they get here i'll ship them out to seb along with a truetype. i'll let you guys know what the color is like. i think shawn offers a few standard colors for the sleeves. i asked him to use his judgement coz its for maximus. hopefully they look nice and realistic. can't wait to see the finished thing. will be using the ebay head for now till chris' arrives - i may ask darren to paint that one for me - not taking anything away from kuato (his work is excellent) but i've always been keen on darren's ultra detailed realistic style.

now all i need are 2 pairs of maximus booties and i'll be able to display the bugger nicely (helmet and gladius can come later)

Hi Chris! Just wanted to check if you received the Crowe pictures?

How is the sculpting of the shoulder guards and of the emblems on the chest plate coming along, mate?

Leather pieces for the "kilt" would be great, but we need something for the metal elements. Might be easier to sculpt and cast the kilt. Let me think about it.... unless maybe Seb has a leather option?

The shoulder pieces will be interchangeable so only one armor set needed!

Warning!! More information on photography than you want follows:

Good photography is a huge subject unto itself! My wife, Kim, was a photography professor (she actually created the photography department at Xavier University in Cincinnati..... in a former morgue! Creepy.) so I should get her to write a tutorial on how to photograph our figures....

But, for now, my advice: Turn off the flash! Flash flattens images out. Use 2 light sources, one main "Key" light and one secondary weaker "Fill" light. Place the key above and to the side of your subject. Place the fill at a lower angle on the other side. Try to get a good balance with nice soft shadows to show the 3D nature of things.

If you have a tripod set the camera on it so you can keep the camera nice and still and get consistent shots while you play with lighting and composition. Make sure you aren't too close so you can focus properly. You can use your zoom to adjust your field of view a bit. Try a few different scene settings on your camera if it allows you to do that and compare results. Soon you'll find the right combo that gives the best results.

To do really pro shots, get a light tent. This is a translucent enclosure that you put your subject in. The walls of the tent diffuse the light giving a really nice lighting effect. Here's a DIY article on how to make a simple cheap light tent

Yes, thank you! Some of those are very good.

Emblems are in the very early stage, but now that I have my new wax pen it will be easier. It's a Max Wax cordless wax pen, very precise. Easy build up of wax.

I'll show the other elements in a few days!
