We are getting all of this btw right?

I mean the leather straps on the bottom are included right?

I'll ask elvis for one of those tunics and I will order those arm and leg sleeves from Shawn and have him send them to the person painting the Maximus head, is that gonna be Kuato for sure or is that not certain yet?

i'll field this one. ahem ahem... not the straps no. i think chris mentioned elsewhere that those straps might be difficult to do because of the metal parts. so he may cast them in another material or perhaps seb could do a commission for those straps.

SO for all of you who wants leather straps under the chirs armour! Yeah it's possible but i think i will have to wait the finished chest peace befor doing this! It would be easier!
Chris what do you think?

Well, what would you suggest for attachment? Connect them with a belt that goes around the waist? I could give you a measurement of the space we have under the armor, perhaps.

Also, how would we handle the metal bits? I suppose I could sculpt and cast those in resin....

The other alternative is to sculpt the whole straps and cast from flexy resin. But the leather would be much cooler if we could pull it off.

Uh oh.. gotta get back to Turkey day! :D

wow - leather straps look like they're being worked out. awesomeness.

chris, in our suggestions for maximus modular parts and accessories, could I suggest a 1/6 chariot :naughty:naughty:D

are you serious? doable? you're a genius! if you'd done other stuff like that, i'd love to see it. obviously the chariot was a joke but i find it fascinating that you'd actually be able to make one if you wanted to!

I spent many years making very complex projects, both organic and mechanical. For example, we (my team and I) made a one off 1/6 scale Star Trek TOS Transporter platform for the ST display centerpiece at the ill-fated Viacom Retail Store in Chicago. We sculpted perhaps 20 ST figures, some of which you can see on my website) and I designed a bunch more that other sculptors worked on. The Transporter allowed the store to showcase different figures. It lighted up too! No sound, unfortunately:(. That's what I'd do differently today.

Also, I made quite a few model kits, like Jurassic Park, ID4, Superman, Godzilla, Batman, etc. These are massively complicated, each part sculpted separately and matched to a mate and sculpted without undercuts for injection molding just to make things harder... My Alien Attack ship from ID4 was actually used in some effects shots in the movie. Check out the the end credits. Lindberg Models get a special thank you...... but not me, alas, the guy who built the darn thing!

Currently, I'm getting ready to create a 1/6 K-9, the robot dog from Doctor Who. I'm offering a version that lights up with LEDs, has a sound module for some classic K-9 quotes. I'm even toying with the idea of putting a laser pointer in his "nose gun". Yes, I'm getting carried away!

So, a chariot? Even though it's a joke, why not? :D The hard part is the horse(s) I love this kind of stuff. What I REALLY need is a Ben Hur version...

chris, you are a real legend! i never realised. i'd seen some of your work and was really impressed but had no idea you'd done anything as diverse as what you mention above. a gladiator chariot might be an interesting project, even without the horses. although don't DID do some 1/6 horses. maybe we should talk about it once the maximus project is done. it would be a beautiful thing to have, that's for sure, and i'm sure you'd do the project ultimate justice.

Yeah, a chariot woud be very cool.

But Maximus would also need someone to kick his ass, so how about this guy?

"The Legendary ... Tigris of Gaul!"

Maybe something to consider somewhere down the line?
Although the body would be abit difficult since there aren't any available to match that guy's physiqiue...

And a little something for another Maximus-version I've got planned:

"Tigris of Gaul!" Would rule! I would love to see Chris take him on. He would be a must have for me.
