Chris by all means your critic/critique is welcomed. It does look like a dodgy cast and I'm glad (with your sculpting abilities/powers) that you agree.

I would repaint if i could paint, but i don't wanna complain about it too much coz that will leave me disappointed. You get what you pay for $US38.50 head & painted i cant complain. Coz one of Chris heads usually go for $US35 and painting say $US30 so its gonna be much more superior. And to top it off we did buy it off someone who couldn't show us a resume of sculpts and painting like Chris can

Sorry, I don't mean to dump on your purchase, it just gets under my skin when I see people putting out that quality. You deserve more for your money, even at $38.50!

I've got this thing about quality..... obsession.....

Someone in Singapore who bought my Joker and Wayne recast them, VERY poor quality, and painted them similar to this, destroying any inherent value they had. It's disheartening. They even tried to sculpt a smiling mouth on top of my Stern Joker. An abomination! I mean, if you're going to bother to steal my work, at least make it look good.

Anyway, a repaint would seriously help the head. Now is as good a tme as any to learn! And remember, you can always scrub it off and start over. You might find it fun....

I love your leather armor! It looks fantastic. They will compliment each other very well!

eighthsamurai was just asking if my armor would fit OVER yours. It wouldn't due to bulk. and hfe just has a cloth tunic under it in the final scene. Plus, why would we want to cover up your hard work!?!

Please, post more photos here if you'd like when you have time! I'm all about cross promotion with quality product.

Dear Chris, and all Maximus builders... it is possible to make the helmet so it is removable, I have just finished this prototype for the project with my son. As you can see it is removable, but a very tight squeeze. The trick is to make it in two parts, the faceplate and the main body. Ensure that when fixing the faceplate on it is secured across the top of the eyebrows only, so when removin it has some give and slips over the nose. Oh, and have a hole where the nose slots in.
I will still have the molds if you want one Chris.

Good idea about 2 parts..... makes sense. I haven't gotten to think about the helmet too much yet. I need to get the armor and head done first. Thank you for the offer. Actually, could you post a photo or 2 of the two pieces so we can see the construction?

yeah sorry guys - i am a plank! I thought seb's leather armour was the same stuff that went under the armour therefore i could use chris' awesome armour as a most bodacious accessory hence i am a plonker. vicious set me straight with some great pics on the other thread.

as it turns out, i'm actually wrong, but in a good way. this means i get 2 amazing maximi outfits from 2 different parts of the movie by 2 different 1/6 maestros. being one of my faves, that is kicking and rocking.

it does make me wonder how i'm going to get hold of the straps though for your armour christoph. but it is a problem i can work out later along with the boots. other stuff is coming a long lovelyly.

Sorry, I updated the first post. You're right about the screaming head and tunic. Everyone who signs up on the pre-casting list will get the pre-discount price of 100$ and a special battle cry head for 10$.

Chris is working something out to offer some tunics to go under the armor as well. More info on that soon...

Dear Chris, you are in luck... just took a fresh set out of their molds.
Sorry about the rough edges... they wont be hard enough to clean off the flashing for an hour or so... but you can see the face plate marries up to the eyebrows (a little overlap to secure) and, like I say, if you dont secure at the sides you get enough flex to squeeze Max's head in.

You know, it's interesting how these things evolve...... and I don't think we're done yet!

Thank you for pointing out we needed to update and Thanks to Lord Vicious for updating the first post.

It started out as a few pieces of armor......

We'll end up when all is done with a heck of a figure with lots of options, I think. Along with Seb's leather and some of the other fine product out there, you'll be able to create the Gladiator of your dreams. And with the Battle Cry Head he'll make all those other wussy gladiator figures pee themselves.

As I settle on all the bits I'm doing, Lord Vicious and I will update you and keep you all informed. I'm planning at least one sword and a helmet, the armor you know about and the shoulder piece LV privately commissioned ( available exclusively through him), the tunic, maybe a shield and other weapons if I can get to them. What else do we need? Boots?

Any other ideas appreciated!

Here's the quick run down, all prices are USD. Presale discount in effect until I wrap up the main components and start the casting process. After that cut-off full price will be in effect:

Shipping cost for one package of armor and head = $5.00 in USA, $9.00 international

Final Battle scene armor set = $100.00 Presale, $120.00 Full price

Battle Cry head special (for those who prepay for armor) = only $10.00, Full price= $35.00 (full price applies to those who only want the head without armor)

Tunic = TBD (should be around $25.00 to $30.00 depending on material cost)

Gladius sword = TBD

I'll try to get prices for the tunic and gladius settled soon. Also, let's figure out what else should be offered so we can get everything set in stone. So, opinions welcome!

Waiting to here back from my buddy kuato on painting..... I really overburdened his schedule with Jokers!! Once he's forgiven me for that we'll see how many other projects he'll be willing to take on!

I've been thinking what else could be made to make a custom Maximus. Of course you have the armor versions with different emblems that can be done so we can make a Maximus from each fight (Carthage battle, Tigris fight, final fight).
For a Carthage Maximus we'd also need the helmet and find a way to do some chain mail (he wears some around his waist an left arm).
A Tigris Maximus would need the round shield with the the symbols on it. And maybe the big axe he gets from Tigris.
The boots stay the same throughout all the fights, so it would be nice to have them available as well.

Oh, and another cool Maximus could be...

i know seb mentioned on his thread today he might be working on some gloves - would be cool if we could get some

looking forward to seeing helmet and gladius. how about the fur shawl for general maximus like in seb's pic?
