Ok well time for an update and I guess no news is good news. I must say there still are plenty of times I want to light up but still have not. Here is to 5 months smoke free! It has been hard.

:rock :clap

I can't explain it but after almost 3 years, i really have no desire to smoke. I know how hard it can be because I've quit twice for a year in my life only to start again but this last time I never planned to quit, my desire to smoke just went away. :huh

Congrats BM, I know how hard it is to quit. I feel your pain.I've smoked for 15 years.I quit New Years two years ago, because of unavoidable stress started back up this last fourth of July only to quit again this past Friday...:banghead

Now Seven days smoke free= :joy

Well then I hope this thread helps make it easier. It worked wonders for me!

Congrats dude, that's awesome. Smoking is one of the worst habbits ever. Congrats on leaving those nasty things behind.

Dude you really are doing such a wonderful thing. I hope you keep on going and are blessed for every landmark!

Thanks it's been a rough road. Next is to kick the um well..... beer habit. But my wife said I am allowed to keep it for now. LOL! But at least I can still toast to losing one bad habit in 18 minutes! :duff

They can have my beer when they pry it from my cold, drunk hands!

Well I sadly must admit that Sunday morning at 2:15am I slipped. I had 1 drunken cigarette. I must say it hurt my lungs and tasted like crap. I was really wasted and don't intend on having another. Just have to admit that I had well an occurance.

Don't beat yourself up too hard....it happens. :) Be grateful that it tasted like crap....because the next time you get the urge, remember that aweful crap taste in your mouth and the pain in your lungs and it will be easy to turn away.

I just saw this thread and wanted to also voice my encouragement for you and am glad you're keeping up the good work! I'm a soon to be pharmacist, so it's nice to see that most drugs along with commitment can work for people.
Now if only they made a drug for this Spooktacular addiction I have.:lol

Thanks Jen! I keep reminding myself that 1 cigarette is not putting me back to square one. I think it only has a minor effect on my recovery hence why it hurt. It has been almost 7 months. I am sure I am good as long as I don't have more.

I took at it as a sign of progress that you really are finished with them.
