I don't see that there's that much difference in the those magazine photos. They're grainy and a tad overexposed, the likeness seems to be the same, just the color of the skin is a bit different.

This will be the first CMQ that I order directly, but I just might wait until pics start popping up from first owners. It's not like he's going to sell out in the next year or so.

Looks really good but I'd have preferred dreads though as Matt said it might not have been practical.

Uh oh, don't get too excited yet. These new pics just surfaced at Statue Forum from a Japanese magazine and they're not nearly as accurate. If this is indeed the finished product, the CM Jack Sparrow just went from "must have" to "no thanks". :(

I'm really wondering about those pics. If that is indeed the production version, it looks like CM has another Aragorn on their hands.

That's exactly what has the people over at Statue Forum freaking out. They say if CM's final product doesn't match the stunning prototype that had everyone drooling it will probably be the death blow to their company. All I know is that the proto pics and the magazine pics look VERY different to me and that can't be a good thing.

I have to say, it's one thing for a $60 Sideshow figure to differ vastly from proto to production, but many Sideshow statues, under $1000, have production look like or better than proto, yet CM, who makes costly products, seems to have major issues, which is surprising cuz (I'm assuming T3 Arnie was an early piece) their early works looked fantastic in the in hand photos.

Yeah Arnie was creepy how real he looked.

Another interesting thing about those Japanese pics is that it appears he has the dreads.

Yes, but given the method they seem to have done it with, I'd have gone with normal hair, it looks like they just wrapped the hair in string to shape it like dreads, but that just looks cheap and bogus to me, with all the materials out there, you would think something could imitate for dreads, hell they make fake ones for hair extensions full scale.

I never said they looked good, just that he had them.

I've been a Star Wars only collector for many years now, but the CM Sparrow was one non-SW item I was seriously considering buying based on the prototype pics. However, I'll definitely be holding off on a my decision until I see the final production piece because if it looks anything like those Japanese magazine pics I'll be out of the market for sure

:lol True enough, actually those were the first things I noticed ... not a fan myself.

Uhhh..yikes. Looks..not as good as the proto. Looks like they kind of just wrapped the bandana around his head, too.
