Great Job!! The backgrounds certainly make a difference, but the key thing is your figures, selection of outfits, etc. Outstanding..!

I'm looking forward to seeing your finished Brando and your NY James!!

Thanks mate, I thought so too! I think it adds something to it! I will update this thread once they get finished or closer to finished!

Man, you have got him down! Would love to see more shots of him when you are able! Are you happy that you made the hat removable? I think it's great that you did, because you can change his look by pushing his hat forward slightly (or backward, etc.).

Nice!

Thanks man! I am glad you like it and see the likeness, I will gets lots of images once all done but it is hard to get a camera to focus on a un painted head sculpt and show all the details! Indeed, very happy I went that route, the hat sits very nicely in different positions.

Well, DA, where have you been hiding those! They're just great looking figures....!

Ditto what Sparks said...I've never seen them before either. More info please!

Re: Classic Actors & Tough Guys - Bogart, Cagney, Wayne, Eastwood, Dean & Others...

Okay guys here is the info on them :wink1:

Lone Wolf and Cub is 6 movies starring Wakayama Tomisaburo. The american release was a mash up of movies that was dubbed & titled Shogun Assassin. I recommend watching the Japanese versions with the subtitles and sit back and enjoy some killer samurai mayhem.

Yojimbo/Sanjuro are 2 movies that star Toshiro Mifune. One of the greatest actors ever and was in Seven Samurai, which is considered one of the greatest movies ever made. Also Yojimbo was remade into A Fist Full Of Dollars with Eastwood & Last Man Standing with Willis. :wink1:

Shinsengumi Assassins Of Honor also stars Toshiro Mifune and he is the leader of a small army of samurai & farmers that ban together and take on the Shogunate.

Zatoichi was a total of 26 films starring Shintaro Katsu the brother of Wakayama Tomisaburo. He plays a blindman that kicks everyones a$$. :lol

The figures are all about 10-15 years old and were made by a company called Alfrex. :)

I also have a Seven Samurai set, but they are in their box right now.:wave

No, Mifune was not in the Matrix, but he was considered to play Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars. That is the man that Lucas originally wanted for the role cause he was inspired by a character in The Hidden Fortress starring Mifune. Alec Guinness ended up with the role and did a terrific job, but I always wonder how Mifune would have been as Kenobi.

You really need to get on that
It's a great film.
I second this and recommend the BD version. Fully remaster and the picture is clear as day with fantastic audio.

Here are some more lurking samurai & ninja. Some are famous actors from Japan and others are generic bashes. :lol
In the 2 front spots is Sonny Chiba as Yagyu Jubei who starred in several films including The Street Fighter flicks and also played Hattori Hanzō the master swordsmith in Kill Bill:

Nice set up on the shelf DA!

OK, so New York James Dean is done for now! New suit and trousers, DID overcoat, grey long sleeved T-Shirt (May change)

Brando is pretty much the same, I am stitching the X pattern into the belt, made the sunglasses and I am re doing the boots.

Re: Classic Actors & Tough Guys - Bogart, Cagney, Wayne, Eastwood, Dean & Others...

I saw some body do this before! I found these leather WW2 boots, removed the tabs on the backs, painted the bottoms black and weathered them, need to add strap and buckle and then they are good to go!

All looking good Joel! At least I know who yours are...:slap

You have a knack for getting that undefined detail that I can't get, that puts your figures over the top...I love NY James...!

Thank you Geronimo :hi5: I figured I might as well throw something new in here and they are classic & tough. To start, watch Seven Samurai. One of the greatest movies ever made. Next I recommend all six movies of Lone Wolf & Cub. That should keep you busy for quite some time. If you get a chance watch Yojimbo, Sanjuro, Rashomon, & Samurai Trilogy all starring Toshiro Mifune my favorite Japanese actor. If your still craving them, then start the 26 film fest of Zatoichi The Blind Swordsman. :lol
