SixM is speaking from the luxurious vantage point of a perennial loser. I should know, as a Cleveland fan in most sports I have learned it well. One day we will be in the crosshairs as fans of near contenders rather than tomato cans!

Trust me, the Goofs will never make it even as near contenders.

I've been chasing the ghost since 1962. :lol

I'd rather not be in that luxurious vantage point of being a loser either. I'd love to be a fan of a Ohio State, LSU, Alabama or a USC. But the Twin Cities is where I grew up so "it is what it is."

:lecture I refuse to take the chicken s**t way out and cut bait on the home team just because we're losers.

It's not like The Josh is going to cut bait on his Mizzu program just because they have an uphill battle by joining the SEC. He'll root for them know matter what. Just like I will for the Goofs.

I guess guys like 316what don't understand is that if the Goofs were 13-1, I wouldn't run my mouth all season about it. That's the difference between him and I. :peace

I don't see the big deal in cheering for a winning team when they're your team. Folks talk smack and hype up their team from time to time. It's sports. That's what people do when they talk about sports. So what?

Perhaps the tiniest bit of humility and modesty might come into play?

By the way, the smack talker never posted after his LSU team lost until responding to me. Sounds like a poor loser too.

Yeah. Same difference :D

I really don't think I'm being biased here though. Not that #2 matters, but I think LSU did more to earn it and less to lose it than Oklahoma St. What evidence do you have, apart from LSU losing badly last night, to justify their not being number 2? Do we not need to factor in the rest of the season and who those teams lost to?

No, in the big scope it doesn't matter at all. Them getting worked that bad is a pretty good reason. I'm sorry Ok St could have crossed midfield well before the 4th and I would virtually bet my life they'd have at least gotten 3 points. That one one of the worst games I've ever seen the #1 team in the country play on the biggest stage. Plus you have to factor in I think that in 9 quarters of play they could only put up 9 points against Alabama. Yes, Ok St losing to Iowa State isn't as impressive as losing to Alabama but I'm sorry a loss is a loss (as a coach you don't care who its against). They also looked good against a good Stanford team that finished in the top 10 as well.

Nope, I'll ride that horse until I die. I do think MU in the long run will do pretty well in the SEC but it early on it will be rough until the D gets in better order. We're just waiting to get season tickets and I plan on being in Columbia, Mo to see them play a few games next year.

No breaking news but Robert Griffin III going pro.

Here's what I find interesting....

"Griffin is projected as a top-10 pick and several personnel officials believe he could go high as the first or second choice depending on his pre-draft workouts and evaluations."

I wonder if some NFL team desperately looking for a QB might trade with the Vikings for the #3 pick? :horror

:lecture If a fan has been running his yap all season long and loses the last game when it counts in such a pitiful fashion, then it's open season.

Feel free to change your board name to "316what the hell happened" :rotfl

Only if you'll agree to change yours to SixMillionYearsUntilAWinningSeason.

Again I ask, please show me where I ran my mouth all season.

I also posted prior to the game that regardless of outcome I may not be able to post until Tuesday evening. After that asswhipping I wasn't in much of a posting mood last night. And I knew I wouldn't be able to post during the day today due to a classified meeting I had scheduled.

Believe me, win, lose or draw I'm always here. Hell, if I was one to hide because my team loses I never would have admitted to being a Raiders fan.:rotfl

You should be getting a call from Dan Snyder any minute now.:clap

Griffin is talented but the man was cocky and a crybaby when things didn't go his way. That won't fly in the NFL.

Attn Six: this post is to inform you that I will be unable to post for the next 2 hours. Please feel free to post while I'm away and I'll respond to you as soon as I get back.:wave

I've got $1800 worth of Round 5 MMA figures to pack up so I can mail them tomorrow.:yess:

Your other choice was "21-0-what"

I'll take that call. Too bad Hue Jackson was fired, he's always worth a 1st and 2nd round pick.....Hello Carson Palmer.

I personally don't think he'll make it as a QB. He had a hard time staying healthy at Baylor.

I don't follow Baylor closely. Was he injury prone throughout his career Josh?

Feel free to post your daily schedule for me. :wave

Maybe if he puts a few pounds on he will be ok but I can see him being a Michael Vick that gets beat up quite a bit.

The Advocate said:
After their disastrous and embarassing performance in the BCS Championship Game, things didn't get any better for the lowly LSU Tigers. When the Tigers left the Superdome, they were unable to get on their bus for the long ride back to Baton Rouge.

Someone had painted a 50 yard line in front of the door to their bus.

Well, at least there's serious discussion about a 4 team playoff according to the Sporting news. It was also reported on PTI.

I'll believe it when I see it but this is an interesting development.

"A new BCS format must be in place before the fall when television negotiations with ESPN open."

I do know one thing. If it happens, there's too much money to be made and it will eventually expand to more than four teams.

Funny you bring up $$. Since ESPN has acquired the rights to the BCS games, the last two years have seen a decline in ratings. Most likely due to ESPN being a pay cable channel, but who knows.

If we are talking about this years no channel would have great ratings. I can't explain last years as that was a pretty good game and no shortage of offensive firepower.

Last year's may have a little to do with Auburn being the 4th-5th most popular team in the SEC and Oregon being a relative unknown to most outside the PAC 12 and diehard college football fans.

As for this year's game, it was Stub Hub's largest revenue game of all bowl games and regular season games the last two years. Tickets to get inside the Superdome (without a seat) were in the $1000 range and the average ticket price was in the $3000 range.

Poor suckers, lol.
