Its not looking to positive. According to a couple buddies from State College they have the road to his house blocked. (more than likely to detour the inevitable candle light vigil.)

My heart is sad for him. He's done so much for the college and state and it will all be overshadowed from some POS perv.

I wish the person who deleted my previous post without so much as an explanation had the integrity to explain why. I mean if it was a content violation, I should have been given an infraction or warning. The fact it was merely deleted without any record, reveals it as merely an act of personal censorship against an unpopular opinion.

Joe Paterno was exposed as an immoral man. A coward who failed to use his immense power and prestige to protect the powerless. Instead he chose to quietly shield a football team from scandal and a child rapist went free for another decade.

I wish him neither peace, nor rest. If it makes me a 'bad person' to think evil people deserve hostility and scorn even in death, then so be it.

Edit:
Happy that this reappeared. I stand by my view and think the over-the-top personal attack on me by praxitas only shows his discomfort with Paterno's conduct.

Believe me when I say my post was deleted too...

Thank you for continuing to prove you are classless. Sure lets focus on something that was told to him second hand. Let's ignore the fact that he told the HEAD OF CAMPUS POLICE. Let's ignore the fact that the person that saw the act did not go to the police himself. Lets ignore the fact that he donated 4+ million dollars to build a library that thousands of kids expanded their knowledge to make them better people. Lets ignore the fact that he was very involved and donated time and more money to the special olympics. Lets ignore the fact that for the 40 + years of being a head coach PSU was never in trouble from the NCAA. Lets ignore the fact that his football program churned out one of the top student athlete programs in the country. You are a bad person though. You are just the type that would rather focus on the .01% bad than the 99% good. Perhaps you should see if the westboro baptists have any job openings. You sound like you would fit in naturlaly. Enjoy your empty shallow life...

They were deleted because it was going to turn into a gripe fest. Then you two post the same crap that got deleted before. Enough already!

If people can make threads about Michael Jackson (a pedofile that escaped conviction) and his action figures, music and videos, I don't see why people can't pay respect to Joe Paterno.

1. People can call Jackson a paedophile there without having our posts summarily deleted. I liked his music growing up, but I would never buy his figures because of what he represents.

2. I am saying they should not pay such rote "respects" in light of his massive moral failing, one that overwhelms any football or charitable accomplishments people trot out.

In my 2nd post I did not resort to name calling and calmed my tone down. I just find it incredibly rude for someone to all but spit on someone that others are trying to pay respect to. I am done with this. I live in the state and I know first hand what Joe has done more than anyone on here.

Your over-the-top hostility towards me shows not mere concern about my being "rude" but your own discomfort with Paterno's legacy. It is not about what he did, but what he did not do at the most important moral juncture of his life. Most people outside the bubble of diehard college football fans and blindly loyal Penn Staters can see that.

Edit:

By the way inky, I can see how the folks in O-H-I-O would be sensitive to the plight of spectacularly disgraced coaches forced to leave despite their on-field success.

What makes you so high and mighty that you feel you can judge someone you don't even know on something you and no one knows the full story.

Oh that's right your on the Internet hiding behind a keyboard and screen so you can make any crazy statement you want.

"you are classless" - ok so i toned down the name calling. It was much worse than that actually, so by calling you classless it shows that I'm trying to be more civil.

"You are a bad person though." - Honestly, this one was a party typo, I meant to say you are "not" a bad person though. Granted I was being sarcastic.

"you should see if the westboro baptists have any job openings." - Well I personally believe you have the credentials to get a high level position within their organization

"Enjoy your empty shallow life" - I'm just saying, you appear to be ok and happy with who you are even if you are empty and shallow, so keep doing what your doing and enjoy it :wave

I am fine with Paterno's legacy. As I said, I lived it and will continue too, as will generation after generation. Also, my "hostility" was no where near over the top, you can paint whatever picture will help you sleep at night. I am however completely tired of people being judge and jury when all of the facts are not out in the open. I know anything I say will fall of deaf ears so I won't bother repeating facts. But, that is ok, I'm sure on your self assumed pedestal where you squat you do no wrong or anything that would be questioned. I love the self righteous.

My problem with discussions such as this is that it is just impossible for them to remain civil. Posting something provocative and negative toward the deceased is not gonna end well when you're talking about a polarizing figure like Paterno. Many have strong feelings on this issue, because of the nature of the alleged crimes involved and Paterno's legacy as a coach and mentor, so it's easy to see how such discussions get heated. And if these discussions lead to excessive negativity on the forum without a real chance for reasonably calm, reasoned discussion then this probably isn't the place for it. Folks have already voiced their opinions publicly, and I don't see how the conversation can move in a constructive direction at this point. If you want to continue the discussion I would suggest doing so via PM. Thanks.

I guess no one cared to comment on the Bobby Petrino embarrassment?

Or was a thread already made?

What a ******* to screw up like that. He lost $18 million in future compensation if he had served out his Arkansas contract.

He deserved exactly what he got. This is the same clown who walked out on the Atlanta Falcons in week 13 of a NFL season. He did that by writing a 78 word statement and posting it in the lockers of the players.

Stay classy Petrino....stay classy.
