To answer the initial question of 1/6 line? I've gone away from it. Not to offend those who collect ONLY the 1/6 line because I have done so as well... but I feel that the PFs and statues have a little bit more 'collectible' feel to them. They WANT to be displayed, unlike keeping them in their boxes or plastic covers. They're conversation pieces which bring out a certain common denominator from "i remember that comic book" to "i remember that in Star Wars...". i would rather give up the rest of my 1/6 line than to let go of the statues....except for a few pieces on either side.
this is exactly why im feeling a bit torn on this decision. while I like the figures since they do make pretty good representations of characters I love on screen into a display, I feel like if I "had" to drop something from my collecting, this would be on the lower on my spectrum. however that doesnt mean that it makes dropping the 1:6 sideshow figures any easier.

Its just that Hot Toys and Medicom are really making me have to start choosing because those two companies alone can put a substantial dent in a wallet and the kicker is, the stuff they are releasing makes it near impossible for me to pass up on some of those items. Not to mention the other higher ticket items that are my first priority like prop replicas.

I just don't know if I should stop collecting the SW 1:6 line and keep what I have now, or just sell everything off. If I sold everything off I'd gain back a good $600-$700 and that could come in handy with some new stuff.... what to doooooooooooooo?!?

I'm not the right person to ask since I love 1/6 figures. I don't care for statues... I think they look nice. But really you can only do one thing with them and they usually take up a lot of space. I think 1/6 figures, when done right, occupy that middle ground between a toy and a collectible and give the best of both worlds; playability/poseabililty and high quality materials.

I am pretty much done with 1/6 figures. I will keep a few here and there, such as Jason Pt.3(until they do a pf), Medicom Rocketeer, Red Death Phantom, etc. Everything else I will probably be throwing on ebay in the next few weeks.

I see Shai has been a bad influence on you again. :lol

And Nash how can you even consider Medicom 1:6 when it's really more like 1:8? If you add up the cost per square inch, those high overpriced Asian imports come up short on both value AND size. :lol

no worries dave, it's my money let me make my foolish decisions on what to spend it on . meanwhile you can laugh at me for spending such high prices on 1/8 figures and laugh that im actually glad to own them too.

It's just too easy to be foolish when a company puts out some amazingly detailed and produced figures.

my appologies.

I'm just saying that maybe you should consider dropping the 1:8 stuff since dollar for dollar your money would be better spent with some overpriced 1:6 Hot Toys instead of taking it in the shorts with the Meds. :D

well to be honest I dont own THAT many medicoms. I mean galactiboy has me beat by miles. I only have supes, comic spidey, comic symbiote and stormtrooper right now.

However I wont be passing up the SM3 figures, boba fett, and spawn thats for sure. so i'd say that right now in terms of 1:6 figures, Hot Toys is the one who is sticking it to me pretty well, and im liking every minute of it.
