I got the email too which brings up the question and maybe I'm being paranoid having been scammed before: Is it enough to restore confidence ordering from them?

I'm so glad that I never ordered from Corner Store Comics. I was thinking about placing a pre-order with them last month, but decided to go with Sideshow instead.

Anyway, I hope that their issue gets resolved. It sucks when low-life hackers can ruin the business of honest, hard working companies :monkey2.

i recieved an email from csc about fraud/my card being may have been hit but have NEVER ordered anything from them so im confused! im quite sure no cc details were required to become a member to login to their site! was the email just sent as a warning or should i be worried? anyone else recieve the same email as me about cc being hit?

If you never placed an order with them, then they don't have your credit card info, so there's nothing to worry about. But, you probably registered for something on their site (mailing list, etc..)

Ugh... I know what you mean :lol. I did that a few times already, with permission also. So, I had to be extra careful, just like you :lol.

I got the email from csc, a little late i was already hit. waiting on new credit cards now.
i don't know if i will ever order from them again.

im sure it wasnt their (csc) fault but so many peeps seem to have been hit!

I received the fraud email just now so I responded letting them know I have never ordered from their site but I did have a profile. I checked my profile and saw I had no card on file, nor any history of orders, so I responded and received this:

Hi Mike,

Out of concern for all our customers, we emailed everyone person with a profile on the new site.
if you have no orders with us, you have nothing to worry about.
Sorry for the unneccesary concern.

Thanks much,
Thomas
CSC

So just be advised that these were sent out to anyone with a profile not just orders.

The website has been securely locked down since the evening of March 6th (within an hour of identifying the pattern of fraud via reports from our customers), so all new credit cards provided since that time, whether through new order placement or as updated payment method, are secure and are not impacted by the security breech.

What BS! I ordered on the 9th and I was charged for some stuff today. Luckly for me it was only the iTunes for $2.00 but still its BS that they are saying it was locked down when it really wasnt!

There real fault is of the hacker who's stealing the card numbers. CSC should have been more aware of the problem, but the thief is the real one to blame. The worst part is he is probably a collector, since he target a collectible Website.

My Debit card and credit card both got hit. Purchases were for itunes and match.com.. can these be traced to the culprit? This really blows!!!

My second card that I used for a preorder back in Dec. just appears to have gotten hit :banghead

There's a 1.00 charge pending and the card hasn't been used since this issue began. Guess I'm going to have to cancel that one as well.

I ordered on the 8th.
so far so good *crosses fingers*

So I just got off the phone with my CC company and the indicated that the $1.00 charge was from "Hostway.com" the same as my debit card so obviously they got rid of the charge and cancelled my card.

I'm just glad that I don't use the card to pay any of my bills except for Directv, so I don't have to make too many phone calls to change info.

Still it is really upsetting

Yes but they are negligent for leaving open the backdoor for them to exploit their customers' financial information. That's why my mortgage company has a class-action lawsuit filed against them right now for not properly securing their customer's records AND one of their employees was stealing that info and selling it on the black market. They've exposed their customer's to financial damages.
